The villainous young master just wants to live a Buddhist-like life.

Then, a perfectly normal thought naturally arose: "Could we use this goddess statue to create a higher-level 'Elysium' series?"

Chapter 69 Darkdemon's Heart Awakens to Daylight [1]

The goddess statue contains an immense amount of [Bliss]. If it could be extracted, let alone [Bliss 1] or [Bliss 4], it's entirely possible to obtain [Bliss 1] or [Bliss 5]!

The only problem was that it seemed to lack a certain "flavor." Through the connection he had just made, Dark had a preliminary contact with the [Bliss] contained within the goddess statue. He felt something was missing, but couldn't quite put his finger on it. Perhaps it was a difference in quality, or perhaps it lacked or added something decisive? In any case, it was slightly different from Dark's own [Bliss], which was perhaps why the goddess statue's [Bliss] could be used to make playing cards. "Still not enough knowledge!" Dark couldn't help but sigh. Learning isn't something that can be achieved overnight; knowledge takes time to accumulate. He couldn't be too hasty. "Tomorrow, I'll come back tomorrow night." Having made up his mind, Dark didn't linger in the temple any longer. He felt he still needed to go to Professor Kazel to borrow the mind bottle back.

It was much faster to get out of the secret passage than to get in.

Mainly, Dak found Witte, who was limping and clutching his backside, and followed him down a shortcut. By the time they emerged from the secret passage, it was nearly midnight. Dak quickly parted ways with Witte and returned to the tower of the Noble House before curfew. Overall, the night out went fairly smoothly. Although he lost one face card and one "Ecstasy 1," many more Ecstasy cards awaited him. Therefore, Dak slept quite well that night.

In contrast, Witt slept very restlessly. He barely made it back to his dormitory before the Knights' Academy tower locked, his buttocks, already cracked from the strenuous running, were now even more so. But the thought of the black-tuxedoed gentleman he'd encountered in the secret passage made the pain seem insignificant. "He doesn't seem to be part of the Order; he must have joined for some other reason, like me." "Damn it, who is he?" "I was going to grab him and interrogate him, ouch!" So Witt slept on his stomach all night.

A warm breeze blew through the door. As sunlight streamed in, Dak, who was particularly sensitive to it, woke up to find his face wet. Helplessly, he stuffed the catnip back into the napkin on the bedside table and got up to wash. "Not bad." Dark looked at himself in the mirror, then summoned [Trash Slime] to apply to his face. Instantly, he felt refreshed. Today's *Great Sage's Daily* brought a different kind of atmosphere. Dark sat alone in the common room reading the newspaper. The newspaper's banner was highlighted in color, featuring photos of the three sisters. The eldest was gentle and virtuous, while the two twins were incredibly cute. The *Great Sage's Daily* announced the three sisters' Halloween schedule; they would be attending the Halloween ball at St. Marian Academy as representatives of the royal family. Politically speaking, this was a very obvious gesture of goodwill. And since Principal Arte had agreed, it was considered a statement of position. On a slightly lower page of the newspaper, there was also a photo of the eldest prince. The eldest prince would be attending the Halloween festival at the Holy Mystic Academy on Halloween eve. "Have these two camps already so clearly announced their positions—" Dark frowned slightly. He didn't want to see either external wars or internal strife. But humans have always been this kind of creature. As long as they live, they will never stop fighting. He sipped his black tea and put down the newspaper. He was a staunch dove, but he wasn't against some of the decisions of the pro-independence faction. But since the Valkyrie was the leader of the doves, then as her son, he should naturally stand firmly behind her. However, he was only 12 years old. For the next six years, he would spend most of his time at St. Marian Academy. The outside world was not his concern. Instead of worrying about those things, he should think about how much of a sensation the news that the three of them would be attending the Halloween Ball would cause! "Elizabeth, Anna, and Angie? I remember they didn't get along with me." "Hmm, perfect."

Wednesday's first class was Potions. Dark arrived at the classroom early, watching Witt enter through the back door, supported by Robert—"That kid, his bottom's practically split open. Why doesn't he go to the infirmary? Sister Caryan would probably be happy to give him a painkiller injection." Dark turned his face away, laughing rather carefree. Witt and Robert had both suffered injuries within a day of each other, even walking with pained expressions.

Witt sat down carefully, but still gritted his teeth in pain. Robert said helplessly, "Bear with it. It's your own fault for falling, and you didn't want to go to the infirmary. Kalian is a nice woman (keep her mouth shut), not as scary as the rumors say." "No," Witt quickly said, "I just tripped and fell. It won't hurt after I adjust." But when class started, Professor Thompson saw him grimacing during the lesson and called him to the podium. Witt forced himself to finish the task despite the pain, and came down looking completely green.

The second lesson was on summoning magic. Professor Sylph brought a type of practice card called "Summoning Card," which could react to summoning spells and could be used to practice sacrificial summoning spells. The young mages excitedly chanted summoning incantations, summoning one large orb of light after another. Before the end of get out of class, Professor Sylph told the students that they could buy a set of "Summoning Cards" from her for practice for 100 credits, but in the end, less than a third of them bought them.

Darke certainly bought it. His credits increased visibly again. Helping Robert and studying the multiplication tables both provided him with a significant number of points. Crucially, this set of summoning cards was truly useful; he discovered that his normal summoning spells could now be reduced to under six seconds, and although he was still a beginner in sacrificial summoning, he was learning it quickly. Last night's real-time battle with Witt further solidified his awareness of the importance of summoning magic. (The last sentence appears to be a fragment and doesn't translate directly.)

Every second counts in battle. Only by compressing the casting time and cooldown of summoning spells to the minimum can one avoid falling behind in combat.

After class, Dark took a deep breath and went to Professor Kazel's office again.

He didn't mention what happened last night, only borrowing a mind bottle from the professor. When the professor casually asked about it, he smiled and said that his experiment had made progress again, and the mind bottle was very convenient. Professor Kazel encouraged him a few times before continuing to grade assignments. The two didn't discuss the card game again from beginning to end. After leaving the office, Dark first ate at the cafeteria, then returned to his dormitory, took the magic dropper and various instruments, and headed to the secret passage.

Chapter 70 Darkdemon expresses gratitude to the Order [2]

One question had been lingering in Dak's mind: Why must the secret passage be entered at night? Wouldn't daytime have many advantages?

 1. No golem patrols. 2. The professors are all busy. 3. Good riddance! Wednesday afternoon is free. Dark took a slightly roundabout route and entered the secret passage unnoticed. Following the route he took last night, he found the temple in just over ten minutes. Sure enough, there was no one inside! Neither that inexplicable cult nor the hapless Witte understood the advantages of daytime. Dark sent Impmon to keep watch outside while he summoned Eevee and began the work of collecting [Elysium]! The most important part of this step was how to lure out [Elysium]? This might be difficult for others.

But for Dark, injecting just a little magic was enough to draw out the abundant [Ecstasy] within the goddess statue. Then, with a simple sip from the magic dropper, he could extract a whole tubeful! It was too easy. So easy that Dark almost thought he was dreaming. The mind bottle he borrowed from the professor could store a full 30 drops? Dark quickly filled the mind bottle, and even sucked one last drop into the magic dropper before reluctantly leaving the small temple. But he didn't notice that after he left, fine cracks slowly appeared on the goddess statue's jade-like skin.

At 3:30 PM, Dak had returned to his dormitory. He laid out the experimental equipment, placed the thought bottle in the upper left corner, and put the magic dropper on the shelf with the tip pointing upwards. Then, he washed his hands and eagerly began the experiment.

He already had some experience in creating the Sin series of magic cards. Basically, he followed the precise method for making [Emotion Cards]. First, he boiled "brain juice," then made a "sealing fluid," and then took a blank magic card, spread it out on the lab table, and then evenly coated the egg-white-like "brain juice" onto the blank magic card to change the surface properties of the magic card, making it easier for emotions and other mental substances to adhere to it.

Then, Dark took the magic brain dropper, pressed its tip against the blank magic card, and squeezed the magic brain forcefully! The drop of [Ecstasy] stored within the magic brain was released! The "brain juice" took effect; [Ecstasy] spread instantly, like paint dripping onto white paper. Unlike the dark gold of [Pride], [Ecstasy] appeared as an ambiguous pink, but very faint! The experiment had reached this point. Dark finally discovered the problem: "No, I remember when I was making the Pride Magic Card, just the 'Pride' alone could turn a blank magic card into a very rich dark gold. Could it be a quality issue, not enough drops?" With a hint of doubt, Dark drew a drop of "Elysium" from the thought bottle and dripped it onto the card. The pink on the card finally deepened a bit, but it still couldn't compare to the "Elysium 11" card modified from a flower card. It wasn't until the third drop of "Elysium" was added that the magic card's color became very close to that of "Elysium 11." Dark recorded this phenomenon and began applying the "Sealing Liquid."

More than ten minutes later, a [Bliss] series magic card was finally completed. Dark examined the card carefully for a while. Perhaps because of the experimental process, he still felt that this thing wasn't very reliable. "Let's try it first."

Then, he turned his gaze to the little devil beast that was pretending to be asleep with its eyes closed on the bird stand.

The experiment showed that the magic card did have an effect. Although its duration was slightly shorter than that of the Flower Card, the degree of influence on emotions was similar. Then he did a simple calculation. "One [Bliss 1] uses 3 drops of [Bliss], so [Bliss 1] would require 9 drops of [Bliss 1], right? Considering that if he continued to make [Bliss 1], it might lead to a shortage of [Bliss], Dark made a decision—to skip [Bliss 1] and try to make [Bliss 1] directly! "There are 28 drops left. Hopefully, that's enough." At this point, Dark didn't have much hope for the [Bliss] produced by the Goddess Statue. He only hoped that this experiment could provide experience for making [Pride 1] later. However, he still took one card from his only two blank magic cards with 50 credits and began to make it carefully. The steps were roughly the same as before, except that when injecting [Bliss], he used a full 28 drops of [Bliss]! Yes, he injected all the remaining [Bliss]! As a result, this blank magic card, worth 50 credits, was completely dyed a gaudy, frivolous gold-pink color, inside and out.

Remain calm and continue making it.

Apply the [Sealing Fluid] and perform the transmutation array. All seven transmutation arrays were completed in one go! Even Dark himself found it unbelievable after the last transmutation array was successfully triggered; it seemed that [Elysium 1] had been transmuted just like that.

Judging from appearance alone, this [Elysium 1] seems not much different from [Elysium 11], except that the color is more alluring and it has a rich but not cloying fragrance. But nothing can be judged by its appearance alone. To know what it is inside, the only way is through experimentation! Dark couldn't help but look at Impmon again. "No way, sir, not again!" Impmon, who had just recovered from Elysium, suddenly felt like he had fallen into an abyss!

"Meow meow meow!" Catgrass peered into the balcony window. This adorable meow was misinterpreted by Devimon as malicious mockery!

It stretched out its paw and lay down, saying, "Come on! I'm yours!" Life is like being stalked by a crazed woman; since you can't resist, you have to learn to enjoy it.

Having followed Dark for so long, Devimon has finally learned this profound saying.

Dark shook his head helplessly. The little devilmon was indeed quite pitiful. He was truly sorry for everything. Yes, the experiments still needed to be done! After all, you were the most resistant to 0 (a type of plant).

Dark took a deep breath, held the [Elysium 1] magic card between his index and middle fingers, and gently swiped it in front of him to activate the [Summoning Technique]. "In the name of Darkdemon, Summoning!" In an instant, an extremely intense pink light erupted from the [Elysium 11] magic card, illuminating almost the entire dormitory in a girlish hue. Except for the caster himself, who remained unaffected, even the cat grass outside the window emitted soft, meowing sounds. As for the Impmon directly exposed to the intense light...

Chapter 71 Little Devilmon's Infinite Craving [3]

The little devilmon lying on the bed suddenly let out an extremely shrill scream. Countless sharp blades pierced its body repeatedly.

But this acting could no longer fool Dark. He watched as light gathered between the eyebrows of Impmon, and the white skull pattern on its forehead was replaced by a new Sin Crest. The pink light released in [Elysium 1] was completely absorbed by it, then burst forth, using the crest as its core, transforming its entire body into light, ultimately forming a network.

Then, the life structure of that luminous being underwent an incredible and dramatic change! It was like a tadpole transforming into a toad, a marine predator evolving into a terrestrial creature—a leap in life form, a great evolution of the species.

"Damn it!" Dark realized almost immediately that this was evolution! Devimon had actually evolved under the effect of [Elysium 1]! For Digimon, who should have been a data life form, [Elysium 1] was like a data card filled with a huge amount of data.

An overwhelming sense of ecstasy filled his heart. Dark watched the "+" notification flash by, but he wasn't entirely unfazed. He was merely settling for this form, genuinely excited about Impmon's evolution! "What could it be—Devimon, Evildramon, IceDevimon?"

There are simply too many evolutionary paths for Digimon. Especially for Digimon like Devimon, its evolutionary branches involve a large number of Disease-type Digimon, and Dark's understanding of these is only superficial. But this, ironically, brings him even more enjoyment.

Nobody dislikes evolution! Whether it's Devimon, Nargamon, or Glaliemon, they are all powerful and cool Champion-level Digimon. Although their evil appearance may draw criticism, Mages using Dark or Fiend decks are not without their uses.

There's nothing to worry about, just aim for ultimate coolness! Come out, I've chosen you!

"Evil?" BlackGatomon stared at the black cat still rolling around on the bed, propelled by inertia.

 Dark's lips froze.

Well, BlackGatomon isn't entirely out of the question!

Jet-black fur, large cat ears, features meticulously arranged like a beauty's, a petite and adorable body, puffy paws, and a slender, long tail, like a board.

The black-skinned hottie barely managed to get through—"Meow!" BlackGatomon stopped rolling. With a slight tremor of its long eyelashes, its amber-like yellow cat eyes slowly opened.

Like a newborn baby, it peered into the world with curious eyes. Then, its gaze focused on Dark at a speed visible to the naked eye!

"Meow! Master, let's stick together!" BlackGatomon's eyes instantly turned into the shape of hearts, and its tongue licked around the corners of its mouth, making its lips moist and plump.

The crest of great sin on its forehead continuously released a pink aura as its emotions changed. Dazhi roughly knew the difference between the crest of [Elysium] and the crest of [Pride]. But BlackGatomon pounced with a "meow," its powerful force instantly pinning him to the ground! Seeing the thick, seemingly impenetrable, bewitching mist filling BlackGatomon's eyes, Dark realized something was wrong! "Get up!" BlackGatomon did not obey. "In the name of DarkDimon, I command you to stand up, my familiar!" The crest of great sin between BlackGatomon's brows flickered, as if to counteract the powerful command from the "Familiar System." And it itself extended its pink tongue, starting from Dark's chin, licking it from his forehead while meowing.

 "This is... husband control."

The flaw wasn't very noticeable in "Paradise 1". However, it became fully apparent in "Paradise 1" that the Great Sin series of magic cards, which originated from the goddess statue "Paradise", finally revealed its greatest weakness!

This inevitably brings to mind the first season of Digimon, where Dark has finally rediscovered his self-interest. It seems that evolving into BlackGatomon was incredibly lucky. He'd probably already been torn to shreds!

Thinking of this, Dark felt a chill run down his spine, but his gaze towards BlackGatomon softened considerably. He turned around and hugged it, skillfully manipulating its chin, chest, belly, and forehead.

It's just petting a cat, after all! He's quite skilled at it. Under Dark's Eagle Hand, the previously domineering and powerful BlackGatomon was completely absorbed in pleasure. Dark exerted his full power, elevating her to an extreme. As BlackGatomon finally stopped moving around, Dark communicated with it, quickly recording in his notebook. [Card Name: BlackGatomon] [Type: Spirit Card] [Level: 1] [Race: Demon]

 【Magic Power: 1500】

[Attack: 1900] [Defense: 900] [Special Moves: Cat Punch, Dangerous Love]

With its striking jet-black fur, BlackGatomon, a Virus-type Digimon, is a thoroughly evil woman who roams and lives in the chilling darkness. BlackGatomon possesses a wicked personality, an extremely strong sense of pride, and a penchant for bullying the weak; she's a Digimon that requires a team effort to defeat.

It's basically a Dark-type Digimon that evolves into a Fallen Angel-type Digimon. Its special attack is the same as Gatoll's: [Cat Punch]!

[Cat Punch: Swing your long claws to tear your enemy apart.] [Dangerous Love: Use dangerous charm to bewitch your opponent and control their actions.]

"If it's a Magical Spirit Card, it's a blue card with two skills, a powerful combination of an attack skill and a control skill."

"The description of Dangerous Love is very similar to Werther's Forbidden Love."

 "Next, record the emblem."

Unlike the emblem of Pride, the emblem of Elysium is green. At the very center of the emblem is a strange mark, above which are celestial symbols representing the azure moon. The outer ring of the emblem is a circle of English letters.

 systemasmodeus

Below the seal, on the inner circle of the coat of arms, is written: cautiatory level 7

After making a copy of the entire coat of arms, Dac translated it on a whim.

Outer Level 666 System: Asmodeus Code: Elysium Inner Circle Warning! Purgatory Level 7

Lucifer, Asmunius... So that's how it is. These are the names of the demons of the Seven Deadly Sins? The demon of Elysium is the seventh in Purgatory.

Chapter 72 Eevee-chan Gallops Under the Moonlight [4]

The evolution lasted approximately sixteen minutes. As the [Elysium] crest on BlackGatomon's forehead gradually faded, it regressed into Impmon in the light. Although this was expected, Dark still felt slightly disappointed. The regressed Impmon—instantly regaining its senses—flew back to its perch as if struggling to escape Dark's embrace, turning its back to Dark.

Dark faintly heard it muttering repeatedly, "Devimon has lost its dignity. Devimon wants to die. Where is hell? Hell is empty, all the devils are here." Dark grinned, amused, and then—summoned [Trash Slime] to help him clean up the experimental residue.

About an hour and a half later, the cooldown of [Elysium 1] was back to normal. It seems that aside from the drawback of "out of control," this [Elysium 1] magic card is quite perfect in other aspects. Of course, the 50 blank magic cards are also crucial. Dark didn't rush to conduct the second experiment, but instead finished the takeout brought by Impmon before starting the final step of the evening. Impmon's unexpected evolution made him have high expectations for Eevee. Like Digimon, Spirits are also species capable of evolution, although the principles of evolution are completely different. But since the [Elysium] crest has a symbol of the moon, perhaps it also possesses the power of the moon, like [Pride] which symbolizes the power of the sun. And Eevee, as a life form, can bathe in moonlight and evolve into Umbreon!

"Magical Summoning. Under the gloating gaze of the little devil, Dark took out [Magical Beast: Eevee] and summoned Eevee.

 Then... swipe the card! Evolution!

BGM! This time, it's truly evolved! Bathed in the light of [Elysium], the [Elysium] emblem also appeared on Eevee's forehead. A touch of pinkish moonlight emanated from its forehead, enveloping its petite body. Eevee → Umbreon! Unlike a typical Umbreon, this Umbreon's jet-black fur is adorned with pink ring-shaped patterns. Black represents night. Pink represents Elysium. It is the moon's representative, walking in the night, a bewitching Pokémon symbolizing Elysium.

Card Name: Umbreon [Type: Spirit Card]

[Level: OL [Race: Winged Beast] [Attribute: Dark] [Magic: 1500] [Attack: 1600] [Defense: 1900] [Special Moves: Moonlight, Dark Pulse, Shadow Ball]

"Three skills! The evolved Eevee has become a four-star orange card. And an extremely rare one at that, possessing a self-healing skill! As everyone knows, the biggest problem with Magic Spirit cards is their lack of sustainability. [Mana] is both the lifeline and energy source for Magic Spirits; releasing skills consumes mana, and even standing still consumes mana. Without a mage's assistance, a four-star Magic Spirit with 1500 mana can only exist for about 30 minutes, and cannot release skills during that time."

However, a Magical Spirit without a special attack is like a soulless Pokémon. Therefore, Mages usually include some Charge-type cards in their decks. Magical Spirits with self-healing abilities can perfectly solve this problem. Umbreon's first move, Moonlight, is an extremely powerful healing skill! [Moonlight: Restores 1/4 of maximum MP. If illuminated by moonlight, it restores 1/2 of maximum MP in one go and provides a continuous MP regeneration of 4 points per second!] In addition, its area-of-effect attack [Dark Pulse] and single-target burst [Shadow Ball] greatly enhance Umbreon's versatility.

What's most impressive about it is its defense stat of a whopping 1900! Compared to BlackGatomon, whose attack is among the best of four-star cards, Umbreon's attack is slightly weaker, but its defense is undoubtedly top-tier! Attack can be compensated for with skills, but defense is a hard and fast rule. Compared to BlackGatomon with 1900 attack and 900 defense, Umbreon's strength is immediately apparent.

But before Dark could even rejoice, he was tackled to the ground by Umbreon.

The Eevee family, possessing characteristics of both cats and foxes, never hesitates to use their tongues. However, Dark already had experience dealing with Black Gatomon, easily transforming it into his own shape. "Perhaps I should get another [Elysium], to enjoy the feeling of having two on each side—" This thought suddenly flashed through Dark's mind. But Dark quickly shook his head. The flaws of [Elysium 1] were already very obvious. The [Elysium] produced by the Statue of Elysium was absolutely different from his own, and didn't have much research value. Dark's frequent experiments and the core purpose of creating the Sin series of Magic Cards were still to analyze the Sins. Improving strength was merely a convenient bonus; putting the cart before the horse was unacceptable. There was no need to go to that temple again. As for Flower Cards, collecting finished ones might be more feasible.

The monkey turns in the darkness.

As Dark and Dimon steadied themselves, a desperate cry erupted from within the temple. "How could this be? A whole month's effort!" A dozen or so so-called members of the cult, draped in black robes and wearing masks, knelt before the goddess statue, hysterically pleading, "Goddess, please forgive us!" The goddess statue, which had remained unresponsive to Dark's frenzied blasphemy, slowly opened its eyes a crack! She was born of the moon and descended upon the earth; she was both the goddess of the moon and the earth mother. Night was her eye, and day was her slumber.

Dark was unaware that his choice to choose daytime inadvertently averted a terrible fate. The goddess statue, after accepting the cult's "sacrifice," opened its eyes a mesmerizing glint of gentle, watery beauty. But a layer of mist shrouded it, making it appear both sacred and awe-inspiring, yet unblemished.

A single, grotesque crack on her delicate face utterly shattered her flawless aura. The cult members collapsed to the ground, trembling. But no one noticed that the statue's eye had quietly opened a crack. The cult had been established for almost a year, yet this was the first time they had made such a mistake. No one knew why the goddess statue, which was on the verge of repair, had cracked again. As everyone knelt in worship, a pale pink mist seeping from the statue seeped into their bodies, amplifying certain thoughts and clouding their minds.

The goddess's voice echoed in their ears, slightly ethereal, but mostly mysterious. The leading member of the cult seemed to sense the goddess's forgiveness, kowtowing and weeping bitterly: 'Great Moon Goddess, please continue to guide us on the path illuminated by the moonlight, for it is the path to our nation's benefit! For the sake of the goddess!'

Chapter 73 Darkdemon Grabs the Hook of Fate [5]

Vitgot was very glad he'd arrived late because of his sore butt. He'd assumed the cult members wouldn't come again after last night's gathering, so he'd come to check if the statue had been desecrated by that perverted gentleman. He hadn't expected the cult members to not only come, but to come in such large numbers. Their submissive posture only served to accentuate the goddess's nobility. This wasn't the first time Vitgot had witnessed their gathering. He felt different from them, a difference in hierarchy. This gave him a sense of peculiarity. But now wasn't the time to linger. From his perspective, he couldn't see the goddess's eyes either, only that the statue seemed even more sacred. He quietly retreated. Although the cracks in the statue had increased, the "Tinkers" were repairing them. He didn't need to worry. He just needed to avoid it for a while.

St. Marian's school break time remained monotonous yet subtly entertaining. The news that the kingdom's princes would be attending a masquerade ball spread like wildfire, stirring up a growing wave of excitement in this otherwise mundane life. Students began discussing it excitedly. It wasn't just the first-years; the entire castle was abuzz with excitement. Princess Angela, like the prince, was a strong contender for the throne. She was widely admired for both her beauty and virtue—it's no exaggeration to say that over half the boys in the castle were her admirers. Of course, admiration and love are different words. The princesses' planned attendance elevated the Christmas Eve masquerade ball to a whole new level. Students who had initially viewed it as just an annual event began to have different thoughts. Boys wanted to dress more formally and handsomely. Girls wanted to become even more beautiful, ideally rivaling the princesses! The masquerade ball was a special event where even commoners could wear the princesses' gowns without being reprimanded. No one didn't want to be a princess. Especially since real princes would be there. "Childish!" Emma muttered under her breath as she carefully selected a cute hair clip. She'd heard that the elves' beauty salons had a plant-based essence that could temporarily straighten hair. She didn't dislike her loose curls, but sometimes she wanted to try a different style.

The second Friday of the month. The junior mages had more leeway in earning credits and also had the added responsibility of "preparing core materials for magical spirit cards," so Traveler's Street was unusually lively this weekend, with first-year students bustling about everywhere.

Witt's buttocks finally weren't hurting so much anymore, and he and Robert strolled around the "10-credit shop," hoping to find some cheap and unique materials. Witt lost 50 points for using "Forbidden Love" on Professor Cazell's head. Robert, although the victim, also lost 10 points for his nighttime stroll.

He kept complaining that Professor Sylph was boring and that Kallian was much better. Meanwhile, Dark arrived in Traveler's Street. He bought some of the things Catgrass liked and was also thinking about what materials to use to craft magical spirit cards for Monday's magic class. He was tired of Catgrass's cat fur and wanted to try something new. For example, a combination of mouse fur and lightning-struck wood.

I've heard of a magical sprite called the Electric Mouse. Although it's only two stars, it's incredibly fast, making it perfect for dodging attacks by holding onto a magic ball during duels.

For junior mages who can't yet use magic to remotely damage Magic Balls, this is a cost-effective Magic Pokémon. Additionally, the combination of Chameleon and Mushroom is also good. It's said there's a considerable probability of creating a Magic Pokémon with invisibility! This kind of visual suppression is undoubtedly what junior mages lacking corresponding methods fear most. As the number of Magic Cards gradually increases, it's very likely that some first-year students will qualify to join the Duel Club before Christmas. Participating in duels is the proper way to earn more credits. Dark is already preparing for this. He hopes to have at least one second-tier (4-6 star) Magic Pokémon card before then. Although using [Elysium] can evolve Eevee into a four-star Umbreon, its "disobedience" is too fatal, making it impossible for it to appear in formal competitions. Even the "goddess's" greatest sin is not as fragrant as one's own. Dark stepped into a materials shop.

This materials shop, named [Journey 1], is the most popular shop among lower-grade students in Traveler's Street.

First and second-year students don't have enough credits, so they need shops like this that offer good quality at low prices. Looking at the dried lizards, dried rats, dried centipedes, and dried scorpions in the shop, Dak felt that it finally had a bit of a "wizard" feel to it. These common materials cost only a few credits, and the most expensive wouldn't exceed 100 credits. He thought for a moment and finally bought a black "century-old" turtle shell and some fragments of magical armor. Whether he could use them or not was another matter, but he'd keep them for now. With Umbreon unable to be used, he needed a tank-level magical Pokémon card to form a strategy. For example, Robert's [Magical Beast: Castle] was a good type. -+ If the star rating could be higher. Then, with a strange look, he took a flower card—a free gift for spending 100 credits—from the owner of the Traveler's Shop. The shops in Traveler's Street were giving away flower cards again! Although he didn't know why, it was undoubtedly great news. Dak's legs suddenly felt energized, and his enthusiasm for shopping gradually increased. Candy store, flower shop, jewelry store, clothing store

Darke looked at the extra card in his hand and couldn't help but beam with joy. The sun was setting, the sky ablaze with red clouds. Colorful lights illuminated the streets of Traveler's Street. Darke's steps halted in front of an antique shop, his gaze fixed on an antique on the stall, unable to look away.

The shape of that ancient artifact... he was searching for the restraint of the Seven Deadly Sins.

The method was something he'd read about in a book. —The Hook of Fate! Legend has it that in extremely ancient times, gods would lower fishing lines from the sky, hooks of fate attached to them, to fish. The gods were the anglers, and humans were the fish; those caught would be taken to heaven. Although the last line of the book said, "The soul is hooked away, naturally going to heaven," Dak still remembered the hook. Aside from being covered in rust, its shape was exactly as described in the book. Of course, there were many similar imitations in antique shops. Trying to find a bargain based solely on the knowledge gleaned from the book was impossible. He just felt that even a replica of this thing was valuable. "Child, what catches your eye?"

An elderly man with a wrinkled face emerged from the dimly lit antique shop; he looked very kind.

Chapter 74 Darkdemon can hardly imagine what it will be like five years from now [6]

Dark didn't try to hide it, though it was impossible to really. Anyone who could afford a shop in Traveler's Street couldn't be a simple character. Don't let the old man's kind face fool you—outside Traveler's Street, he might be some formidable figure. Dark simply pointed directly at the hook and asked, "Grandpa, could this be the legendary Iron Hook of Destiny?" The old man stroked his long beard and said with a smile, "It's rare that you can recognize it at such a young age. Indeed, its original form is the Iron Hook of Destiny, hmm, the one for catching souls."

Dak asked doubtfully, "The old man nodded, picked up the rusty iron hook from the stall, and wiped off the dust. Then he said, 'The reason a legend is a legend is because it is ethereal and intangible. If someone actually took the object, how could it be worthy of the word "legend"? This hook is just made by people, imitating the legend.' Dak nodded 'confused' and asked curiously, 'Grandpa, can it also hook souls?' The old man glanced at him and suddenly swung the hook forward: 'Shh!' Dak instinctively shrank back, but the hook swung even higher, and the old man chuckled: 'It can't hook, it can only hook away a little bit of distracting thoughts.'"

Dak's mind started to wander, and he listened intently. The old man said, "Come, I'll perform a pair for you. What's your name?" Dak replied, "Dak, and you are?"

The old man nodded. "Just call me Old John." With that, he went into the dimly lit shop. Dak hesitated for a moment, then followed him. Once inside, Old John lit an oil lamp. The light spread and illuminated the entire shop.

Old John pulled a piece of frosted paper from his drawer and waved it in front of Dark: "Golden Touch Paper." Then he rubbed the hook with his finger, and the old rust crumbled off with a clatter. When he stopped, the "Hook of Fate" looked brand new. Dark was amazed. "Watch closely!" Old John raised an eyebrow at Dark, then suddenly picked up the hook and plunged it into his own head—hook! The first half of the hook blurred upon contact with his skin. Then, a transparent bubble was pulled out of his brain by the hook!

Old John reached out and poked it, and the bubble burst. "With all distracting thoughts gone, I felt refreshed and invigorated."
