Chapter 76: The Story of the Forbidden Forest
Chapter 76: The Story of the Forbidden Forest
"Damn it!" he cursed under his breath. "Hagrid... can you let us go?"
He seems to be starting to play the emotional card.
"We are also students of Hogwarts..." he said, pursing his lips, his voice even sounding slightly choked with emotion.
"Yeah, yeah!" the poacher who had lost his wand quickly added, "We'll never do it again."
"Please, let us go..."
"Do you know how terrifying Azkaban is!"
Suddenly, the poachers who had just been menacing transformed into model students at Hogwarts.
"I used to bring you lunch," one of the poachers cried out. "We're just desperate to make a living..."
Hagrid is a kind man, as every Hogwarts student knows to some extent... therefore, they seem to know how to deal with Hagrid as well.
"..." Hagrid opened his mouth, seemingly silent.
Perhaps he recognized who they were? Or perhaps he was simply too soft-hearted? In any case, he did hesitate.
Seeing Hagrid hesitate, the one without a wand boldly took a few steps back and walked to the side of the unconscious person.
And he slowly picked up his wand.
The next instant, the wand of the short figure next to Hagrid was pointed at him.
But then Hagrid spoke up.
"Put down your wands," Hagrid said slowly. "I will plead with Headmaster Dumbledore."
"You may not necessarily go to Azkaban."
It's not certain that I'll go to Azkaban?
The poachers exchanged glances; such meaningless talk was not enough to make them put down their wands.
So they continued, "Hagrid...you know we're not bad people."
"We just did something wrong."
"And it's just because we have to make a living..." they said, taking a few steps back as if they wanted to run away.
"You know this is impossible!" Hagrid immediately became serious upon seeing this. "I am the Keeper of the Forbidden Forest appointed by Professor Dumbledore, and I will certainly not betray his trust."
After he finished speaking, he took a deep breath, pursed his lips, and lowered his voice: "Gross, Paka, you two should put down your wands."
"Hagrid, you..." The poacher who was called by name seemed to panic, and the poacher holding the wand was trembling.
"He recognized us," the poacher whispered, having just picked up his wand. "He'll tell Dumbledore..."
"Damn it!" The poacher, wand in hand, gritted his teeth and looked at Hagrid.
then……
A green light gathered at the tip of his staff.
"Ah..."
The moment he spoke, Loila moved. Her wand traced a crescent-shaped arc, and a red light condensed at its tip.
"Buzz!"
A stunning spell, much faster than the Killing Curse, flew out, leaving a crimson trail in the bushes.
"Bang!"
The spell struck its target precisely, sending the person flying.
"Ugh, I'm dizzy..."
"Buzz!"
Before the remaining poacher could finish his incantation, a magic wand appeared before him with a flash of silver light and pointed precisely at his neck.
The short figure appeared before him the instant after defeating his accomplice using Apparition.
This...this is too fast...and it was silent...The poacher stared in shock, mouth agape, at the owner of the wand.
He wanted to use the moonlight to see the true identity of the wizard under the hood.
Unfortunately, what he saw was not anyone's face, but only a silver mask that faintly reflected the moonlight. The only thing he could see was a pair of blue, jewel-like eyes.
However, all that's there is indifference.
"Buzz!"
A stun spell was unleashed from the tip of the staff, causing the poacher to follow in the footsteps of his companion.
"Professor Hamilton!" Hagrid finally realized what was happening. He ran to Royla, crossbow in hand, and asked, "Are you alright?"
"No...no." Loila flicked her right hand, putting her wand back into her sleeve, then raised her head slightly, took a deep breath, and said, "They...they're not...too difficult to deal with."
Hagrid swallowed hard as he listened to her words and said, "That should only apply to you."
Hagrid was also filled with surprise. He had never imagined that someone could defeat two wizards so quickly, especially when both wizards were pointing their wands at him at the same time.
"I...I believe Mr. Lockhart can do it too..." Loyla's somewhat serious statement made Hagrid pause for a moment before he suddenly burst into laughter.
"Merlin's briefs!"
"Professor Hamilton, you're really good at telling jokes, hahaha." Hagrid shook his head with a laugh and then walked to the unicorn's side under Loila's confused gaze.
But as he examined the unicorn more closely, his smile slowly faded.
"It's badly injured," Hagrid said gravely, bending down to touch the unicorn's wounds. "They hit it hard."
∑(°口°๑)!
Upon hearing this, Loila quickly ran over and crouched down to examine the unicorn.
This unicorn has a gruesome wound that runs from its neck down to its forelegs. It must have been caused by a cursed attack... How cruel... to do such a thing to such a beautiful animal.
Moreover, the wound was too severe; ordinary healing was definitely not enough... Realizing this immediately, Loila pursed her lips and hurriedly flipped open the Space Expansion Book hanging under her cloak.
"Professor Hamilton?" Hagrid paused for a moment, then saw Loila take a small bottle out of the book.
"White...white fresh." Loila whispered as she unscrewed the bottle and gently tilted it to pour the liquid onto the unicorn.
Meanwhile, she held her wand in her other hand and slowly slid it over the unicorn's wound.
"By Merlin!" Hagrid watched in surprise as Loila slid her wand slightly, and as she slowly moved the tip of the wand, the unicorn's wounds began to heal.
It took quite some time for the gruesome wound to slowly disappear.
"This...this shouldn't be enough." Seeing the wound completely disappear, Loila whispered as she removed her mask. Perhaps because she was focused on using the spell, a few beads of sweat appeared on her forehead: "It bled...it bled a lot."
"It needs to rest."
"..." Hagrid pursed his lips, looking at the pale and youthful face in front of him, and felt that he truly understood what Professor Dumbledore had said at the opening ceremony.
"Professor Hamilton is an outstanding wizard."
Although Hagrid always trusted Dumbledore and never doubted his words, in his interactions with Royla, he mostly treated her as a timid little girl.
But it's quite clear... Loila seems to have proven herself to be a truly outstanding wizard tonight...
"Ah!" Loila suddenly cried out and took a few steps back.
"What's wrong?" Hagrid asked in surprise, "Are you hurt?"
"No...no..." Loila raised her hands, her body trembling.
Hagrid followed the gaze and saw a patch of silver liquid on those hands.
That's... unicorn blood?
"Ugh...it's disgusting..." Loila whispered, raising her hand. "It's like snot..."
"Ah... I didn't mean unicorns were disgusting..." She seemed to remember something and quickly waved her hand to explain, "They're beautiful..."
"But their blood... ah!"
It seemed that because of her slapping, the blood splattered onto her face again.
"Let me wipe it for you?" Hagrid burst into laughter at the sight, tearing off a corner of his clothes as he laughed.
When the cloth touched Loila's hand, the professor, who had just defeated three poachers and saved a unicorn, trembled and blushed, whispering, "Th...thank you...Hagrid..."
"I should be thanking you, Professor Hamilton," Hagrid said with a smile. "You truly deserve to be called the most outstanding wizard, as Professor Dumbledore once said."
"Hagrid, please...don't say that...I'm just...a useless...good-for-nothing...a lazy bum..." Royla trembled as she lowered her head and said, "Please don't..."
Listening to Loila's almost self-deprecating humility, Hagrid smiled and shook his head.
He took a deep breath and said solemnly in a loud voice, "To be honest, Professor Hamilton, you are indeed one of the most outstanding wizards I have ever seen... and also the most proficient in spells I have ever seen..."
"Hey, wait a minute! Professor Hamilton?!"
........................
Late at night in the Hogwarts infirmary, McGonagall looked at Hagrid, who was filled with remorse, with a complicated expression and said, "You mean... Professor Hamilton fainted because you praised her?"
"It seems so," Hagrid said awkwardly, rubbing his beard. "It seems so..."
