Chapter 827 - Peerless White Blade
Chapter 827 - Peerless White Blade
The Butcher unleashed his strongest slash. The sea of blood reversed along its path. Every corpse in the Slaughter Jurisdiction domain latched onto the strike and poured limitless power into it.
Han Wu watched the slash descend. His core analyzed its destructive force, but even at full capacity, it couldn’t identify a weakness in time. The conclusion was clear: the slash possessed enough power to reduce his Fetterbane Dragonforge form to dust.
Any resistance was pointless. Thus, he let go of Locust-V, summoned his Origin Microcosm, and placed it between himself and the incoming strike.
The Butcher scoffed. A mere Microcosm blocking his ultimate attack, one empowered by his Slaughter Jurisdiction, was laughable. The World-Slaughtering Slash was powerful enough to reduce hundreds or even thousands of Microcosms to shards.
Yet when the strike collided with the Origin Microcosm, it accomplished absolutely nothing. The Origin Microcosm possessed a special property called Stasis. External force couldn’t destroy it. Not even the World-Slaughtering Slash could break through it.
Watching Han Wu’s Microcosm stop his unstoppable strike nearly drove the Butcher insane. Even that wasn’t enough?
Han Wu seized the moment while the Butcher let his guard down. He grabbed Locust-V again, activated the Runic Ring, and coated the weapon with anti-barrier runes.
“Starfall Laser Cannon!”
He fired straight upward at the blood-colored space above. The beam, modified by the anti-barrier runes, punched a hole through the Slaughter Jurisdiction’s barrier. A blinding pillar of light erupted across the battlefield, visible from every corner of the field.
At that moment, deep within the Wisdom Faction’s territory, a 100,000-meter-tall magic tower stood in the command area. Numerous minor God Kings had constructed the massive structure with huge quantities of resources.
Xu Hai stood at its peak. The instant he saw the pillar of light pierce the sky, excitement flashed across his face. It worked. Han Wu found the Butcher’s location.
With the position confirmed, Xu Hai finally had a way to defeat him. “All Wisdom Faction members, pour your energy into the tower!”
The minor God Kings and numerous Major Gods had already received advance notice and were standing ready. They channeled their energy into the tower at once. Segment by segment, the structure lit up all the way to its peak.
At the peak, the energy formed a massive Eye of Wisdom. This was a Divine Skill that Xu Hai had created with his Divine Jurisdiction.
“Lock onto the pillar of light and fire the precision strike,” Xu Hai ordered.
The Eye of Wisdom released a beam toward the area Han Wu had marked. Xu Hai’s gaze turned toward the Slaughter Faction’s territory in the distance.
When Han Wu had first proposed taking Jing Jing and attacking the Slaughter Faction, Xu Hai had refused. The Butcher was formidable, backed by the War Faction, and likely had countless hidden trump cards. However, Han Wu had ultimately persuaded him with the Fetterbane Dragonforge’s sheer power.
Han Wu had done it! With nothing but his own strength, he had drawn out the Butcher alone. No one had ever accomplished such a feat. It also gave the Wisdom Faction a chance to deliver a decisive blow.
“Victory will be ours,” Xu Hai said confidently.
The Eye of Wisdom’s beam landed on the marked coordinates. Brilliant light engulfed the area, and every enemy target within a ten-kilometer radius was eliminated. The Butcher was no exception.
Han Wu watched the Butcher disintegrate under the Eye of Wisdom’s beam. Yet something felt wrong. No Divine Jurisdiction dropped after the Butcher’s death. Not even a Divine Aspect emerged.
Confused, Han Wu searched the location where the Butcher had died and found only the black blade. The beam had destroyed the nine eyes of the Nine-Eyed Evil God embedded within it, leaving nothing but nine hollow holes.
Han Wu picked up the blade. Instantly, an enormous flood of negative energy poured into him. The Dark King’s will attempted to seize control of him. Without hesitation, Han Wu activated Divine Authority 2. Formed from his four Divine Aspects of Life, Light, Creation, and Peace, Divine Authority 2 drove away every shred of negative energy.
Han Wu tightened his grip on the black blade as he warned the Dark King within, “Submit or be purified. Choose.”
It should have been a newly born legendary Armament Spirit. Instead, excessive negative energy had corrupted it and twisted it into something evil. If used properly, it could have rivaled the original king spirit in power.
Unfortunately, the Dark King was consumed by resentment and refused to submit.
Han Wu showed it no mercy, pouring Divine Authority 2 into the black blade. It cost him 1 million Divine Essence before every trace of negative energy inside was purified. The entire blade turned pure white. At last, the Dark King reverted to what it had always been meant to become: a true legendary Armament Spirit.
The purification had reduced its raw power several times compared to what it had been as the Dark King, which was admittedly a loss. Even so, Han Wu wasn’t disappointed. A weapon spirit that obeyed him was far more valuable to him than one that didn’t, regardless of how powerful the latter could be.
Since the black blade had been fully purified and turned white, its old name no longer suited it. Han Wu renamed it after the legendary Armament Spirit it now housed. Its new name was Peerless White Blade.
Peerless released a series of soft, clear tones, as if celebrating its new name.
Han Wu stored Peerless within his divine realm.
Jing Jing rushed toward him and wrapped him in a tight embrace. Crystal-like tears fell from the corners of her eyes. “God, I am sorry. I wasn’t strong enough to protect you.”
A handsome young man and a beautiful woman locked in a tight embrace should have been a touching sight. However, Jing Jing’s considerable height left Han Wu completely buried against her, making him look like a kid.
He coughed to get her attention. Jing Jing’s embrace was comfortable, but he still wanted to preserve at least a little dignity as her god. When he tried to straighten up, Jing Jing only tightened her hold, as if she wanted to press him into her very bones.
“Jing Jing, this is a battlefield. Let me keep a bit of dignity. What if someone sees?” Han Wu asked quietly after realizing that he couldn’t break free.
At last, Jing Jing released him. Han Wu quickly glanced around. Thankfully, no one else was nearby, and he let out a silent sigh of relief. No matter what, he was someone who had fought the Slaughter God King on equal footing. It would have been embarrassing if anyone had seen him getting smothered by a woman.
Once everything had settled down, a sudden realization struck Han Wu. Why is the divine war still ongoing? The Slaughter God King is dead, and the victor is clear.
The thought immediately made him realize something was wrong. Since the divine war hadn’t ended, that meant both faction leaders were still alive.
Han Wu had charged into the Slaughter Faction alone, broken through the final defensive line single-handedly, and drawn the Butcher out. Then he had done everything he could to mark the Butcher’s position for the Wisdom Faction.
If the Butcher was still alive, what would he do next?
“Fuck! The Butcher must have used the direction of the Eye of Wisdom’s beam to trace my mentor’s location!” Han Wu said in alarm.
