Chapter 1003 - 961: The Biased Mother (Part 2)
"I came here to find you." Mother Abbey said.
"Find me?"
Sienna Johnson looked at Mother Abbey. She was very thin, her skin wasn’t great, and she was wearing very plain clothes, much like the old ladies in the urban-rural fringe areas that Sienna had seen before.
"I came here today to ask you to transfer Vivian Abbey’s salary to my card." Mother Abbey stated her purpose for coming.
Sienna Johnson put down the Parker Pen in her hand, leaning back curiously, wondering why Mother Abbey would make such a request.
"Aunt, this isn’t appropriate."
"I know you’re the boss of this company; isn’t everything up to you just a word..."
Sienna Johnson smiled, "Aunt, does Secretary Scarlet know about this?"
"She doesn’t know."
Sienna Johnson noticed that whenever she mentioned Vivian Abbey, Mother Abbey became very emotional. "Then, can you tell me why I should transfer Secretary Scarlet’s salary to your card?"
"Stupid girl, you’ve grown wings and want to fly now!" Mother Abbey said angrily.
"What on earth did Secretary Scarlet do?"
"Her brother wants to open a dessert shop at home and asked her to invest some money. This girl didn’t give a penny and even said she won’t spend another cent on her brother in the future.
Just listen to that... Is this something a person would say?
That’s her real brother!
This girl, she’s so heartless, she doesn’t even care about the bond between siblings."
"Aunt, you’re exaggerating. Secretary Scarlet isn’t that kind of person!" Sienna Johnson tried to mediate.
Mother Abbey said, "She’s my daughter! I have the right to control her salary. You transfer her salary to my card, so she won’t use the money to support that criminal."
"Mom, what nonsense are you spouting?" Vivian Abbey entered without knocking, unable to hold back.
Vivian Abbey had received a call from Tessa Harrington at the Finance Bureau, learning that her mother had come to the company. She dropped everything and drove over, running several red lights.
"President Johnson, I’m sorry, I’ll take my mom away now."
The old lady was quite strong. She pushed Vivian Abbey aside, "You ungrateful child, get out of my way! Today, if your boss doesn’t transfer the salary to my card, I won’t leave."
Vivian Abbey stood there, her eyes red, her voice trembling, "Mom, haven’t you had enough?"
"Dead girl, I’m your mother, why are you yelling at me? If you hadn’t gone too far, would I have made a scene at your company?"
"How did I go too far?
Over the years, how many businesses has my brother started? He took over 30 thousand from me, all lost without a trace.
This time he wants to start a dessert shop, and with my brother’s inability to endure hardship, you expect him to work from dawn till dusk?
Do you really believe he can make it?"
"Why shouldn’t your brother make it? He’s your real brother, how could you talk about him like that?"
"Mom, I’ve been clear with you.
You gave birth to me, I owe you, but I don’t owe my brother. Mom, I give you 150 living expenses every month. I’ll take care of your birth, old age, sickness, and death, but as for my brother, I won’t care anymore."
"..."
"I’m also getting married and planning to have my own family, my own children. I need to plan for myself."
Vivian Abbey refused her family’s unreasonable demands, no longer wanting to be her family’s ATM.
"Vivian Abbey, have you grown wings? You spent a fortune on your education. I worked so hard to put you through college, and this is how you repay me?"
"Over the years, I’ve given you enough money to raise three of me!"
"Stupid girl, are you rebelling?"
"You always said I wasn’t as good as him when we were young, so why is he relying on me?
The palm and the back of the hand are all flesh, but the palm has layers of flesh while the back is just skin. The money for your retirement, the house, the car, you gave everything to him. You even babysit their kids and act as a housekeeper...
What have I received from you? When you’re hospitalized, it’s me who pays several thousand each time. Did he ever contribute a cent?
Mom, have you ever thought about it, that all that money is like the small grains pecked by a chicken, accumulated little by little? Have I ever benefited from you? Yet you still come to calculate. Besides the filial piety that children should give you, don’t dream of anything else."
"Dead girl, I’ll beat you to death!"
Mother Abbey raised her hand, ready to strike. Vivian Abbey stood stubbornly, prepared to take the hit, but someone blocked Mother Abbey’s slap.
"What are you doing? She’s hitting you, and you won’t dodge?" Brett Jacobs asked angrily.
Vivian Abbey had always been tough, holding back her tears, but when Brett Jacobs arrived, she burst into tears.
"Why are you crying? Have some dignity!"
"If I’m losing my dignity, then leave, don’t look at me." Vivian Abbey cried, feeling wronged.
"It’s no big deal, what’s there to cry about?"
Mother Abbey was quite afraid of Brett Jacobs. When he arrived, she immediately turned from a tiger into a little cat, which amused Sienna Johnson.
Sienna Johnson knew about Vivian Abbey’s family situation.
Vivian Abbey was burdened by her family, which is why she became a leftover woman. Otherwise, with Vivian’s character and ability, she would have long been married.
The reason Sienna Johnson introduced Brett Jacobs to Vivian Abbey was because the men in Orienta couldn’t handle this terrifying future mother-in-law.
"Are you here again for money?" Brett Jacobs asked.
Vivian Abbey said, "Yes, my brother wants to open some breakfast shop again."
Vivian Abbey glanced at Sienna Johnson, wiped her tears, and said awkwardly, "I’m sorry, President Johnson, for letting you see this."
"Do you need help?" Sienna Johnson asked.
"Brett will help me." Vivian Abbey said.
"Keep an open mind and be ruthless!" Sienna Johnson advised Vivian Abbey.
"I understand, President Johnson. Thank you."
Vivian Abbey and Brett Jacobs registered for marriage, and maybe it won’t be long before there’s a little baby. She can no longer let them make such demands.
