Chapter 800 - 326: Bloodline Sublimation, Yin Yang Calamity
Chapter 800 - 326: Bloodline Sublimation, Yin Yang Calamity
The isolated island is located on the 15th level of Asura’s Tomb.
There’s only one isolated island on this level, or rather, it might be a mere speck of land with a vast world waiting to be explored beyond it... these are things Ye Hanjun knows not.
As for the western side of the island, the Graveyard of Chaos, what secrets are buried there, and the sorts of terrifying dangers... he is completely in the dark.
The only certainty is that Ye Hanjun cannot stand still.
Hope lies here, and if he cannot collect the "Deep Netherworld," he will die alone on this island, just like the clansman who left nothing but a surname.
How can this be? He still has so many wishes to fulfill; whether ahead lies a mountain of swords and a sea of flames or a dragon’s den and a tiger’s lair, he must forge through today and fight the odds.
"Wu—"
A cold breeze whisks by, and the withered trees let out dark sighs.
The swaying branches resemble the lanky claws of ghosts, chaotically thrusting into the sky.
They also look like dying creatures, full of despair, desperately pleading.
The Lion Head’s lethargy diminishes slightly, its paws stepping more cautiously and lightly upon the earth.
Clearly, it too senses the distinctive nature of this land and follows its instincts, remaining on high alert for potential threats.
"Mie!"
The Ink Cloud Lock roiling above behaves like a prowling enemy, occasionally forming into the shape of chains, attempting to wrap downwards.
Whenever this happens, the Sheep Head raises its head and bellows powerfully.
Its voice booms like Lightning, piercing and forceful enough to shatter gold and split stones.
The Ink Cloud Locks break apart inch by inch, tumbling upwards in apparent fear.
The further reaches of the Ink Cloud, disturbed by the commotion, spread and swarm over in mass.
In a short while, Ye Hanjun and his companions seem to be under the watchful eye of the reaper; all around them is silent as a mystery, their hearts pounding like drums. This intense contrast bogs them down like a morass, their Speed slowing more and more.
"Bang!"
Despite their extreme caution and efforts to avoid any disturbance, a young Chimera that had been growing larger day by day, accidentally touches an unmarked gravestone because of its bulky beastly body.
The already teetering gravestone quickly breaks apart, and a cloud of black mist surges out, accompanied by the piercing shriek of a fierce ghost, sending Ye Hanjun’s spirit into shock and his mind into a blank void.
In the nick of time, the Sheep Head bellows once again.
The approaching black mist emits an even more mournful wail as it, in panic, plunges into the ground to escape.
"What was that? So weird... so evil..."
Ye Hanjun is filled with doubts and uncertainty.
He tries to identify it, but the attribute panel shows no information.
It seems not to be a living creature, but rather an accumulation of resentment and miasma.
Due to being sealed for too long, the moment it breaks free, it gains a soul piercing Ability many times stronger.
"Human, this is a land of extreme yin and cold, where beings die easily and twisted corpses, or terrible ghosts, are likely to form."
Perched on Ye Hanjun’s shoulder, the Nightmare Hawk flutters its wings, its petal-shaped pupils shimmering with fantastical light:
"I wield the way of dreams, and as I try to unfold the dazzling dreamscape, all I can sense is the death of the afterlife and the bottomless resentment."
"The proportion and intensity of it are beyond anything I’ve ever experienced."
"In my estimation, there is a master here."
"One or more ruler-level beings are dominating this land, and it or they are the source of all the sinister terror..."
Ye Hanjun nods thoughtfully and contemplates deeply.
He feels fortunate, for in addition to Aiji Aila, he has the Nightmare Hawk by his side, who is even more adept in the way of souls.
Having reached Heaven and Earth Perfection and consumed pure holy blood, should they face a higher being with a very weak soul, there’s a possibility to triumph over it.
Furthermore, being bound as a heart slave, he does not need to worry about any hidden malicious intentions.
Ye Hanjun trusts its judgment, thereby feeling even more wary of this place.
"One by one, a sense of life-or-death urgency..."
"The lord of this place must be beyond the Sky Hammer Armored Shark, definitely stronger than it..."
"Gua!"
Suddenly, GuaGua grabs Ye Hanjun’s collar and urgently transmits the message:
"Big tadpole, can’t go forward, change direction! Turn! Quick, to the right!"
"Xiaoxiong!"
Ye Hanjun’s eyes sharpen as the Snake Head intuitively grasps the message, biting the Lion Head’s left foot to stop it from stepping forward.
"Roar..."
The Lion Head pauses and, heedless of whether its paw is bleeding, slowly shifts to the right.
As they move slowly, all the creatures are on high alert.
Ye Hanjun concentrates all his attention, scrutinizing the area they were supposed to cross.
There, hidden among the weeds, is a small gravestone that at a glance seems quite ordinary.
But he sees that there appears to be a very faint "Poison" character imprinted on it—accidental contact could spell a dreadfully poisonous curse.
"GuaGua, how did you sense the danger?"
Ye Hanjun is curious to understand the principle behind it.
The further they go, the less sufficient his Super Spirituality seems; he feels danger everywhere, resulting in a blurred perception as he tries to cover all bases.
"The Stone is emitting red light."
GuaGua points to the small pendant around its neck, crisply replying:
"When it lights up, my heart starts thumping wildly, and I get an inexplicable sense of panic."
"When we changed direction to the right, it immediately stopped lighting up, and my heart settled down, quite miraculous indeed!"
"A blessing from the Clock of the Era?"
Ye Hanjun is astonished and reexamines the little fellow’s stone necklace.
Since entering Asura’s Tomb, he and GuaGua have attempted to explore the functions of the Stone more than once.
Yet until fifteen minutes ago, they failed to discover anything special about the Stone.
Who could have thought that, in a sudden interval, it would activate to warn them, invisibly helping them to avoid a great threat.
