Chapter 147: Beyond the Abyss of Fate
Chapter 147: Beyond the Abyss of Fate
Isaac strode towards the other side of the abyss of fate, the Line of Destiny beneath his feet emitting a soft golden light with each step, as if protecting him with every tread. However, the surrounding environment grew increasingly eerie; the light initially illuminated by the Core of Destiny gradually dimmed. In its place, a deep purple mist drifted slowly through the void, seemingly harboring some immense threat.
Isaac's gaze was cold and resolute. He could sense that an even more powerful being lurked at the end of the abyss of fate. The energy contained within those purple mists was entirely different from the corrosive forces he had previously defeated—it was no longer mere destruction, but a far more dangerous distortion of rules.
“The Will of Fate, what is this?” Isaac stopped, frowning slightly. His gaze pierced through the mist of light, but he found himself unable to discern the truth within.
"This is the last line of defense of the abyss's origin," the voice of the Will of Fate was low and cautious. "These light mists are areas that the network of fate has not fully covered, and are also one of the deepest strongholds of the corrosive power. Here, rules and chaos exist on equal footing, with neither side having the upper hand."
"Equal?" Isaac was slightly taken aback. He raised his hand and released a burst of power of rules. The moment the golden light touched the mist, it was rapidly devoured by a dark purple power. That power tore the power of rules into countless fragments, ultimately turning it into nothingness, as if it had never existed.
"These light mists can devour the power of rules?" Isaac muttered to himself, his brows furrowed and his gaze growing increasingly profound.
“The rules here no longer apply to your previous abilities,” the Will of Fate continued. “If you want to traverse this area, you must re-examine the nature of the rules, merge fate with chaos, and rebuild your power at a higher level.”
“Rebuild power…” Isaac clenched his fist, a resolute glint in his eyes. “Fate and chaos? I will make them submit to me completely!”
Having said that, he slowly raised his hands, and the power of rules and the power of soul surged once more. However, this time, he did not release the power directly as usual, but instead attempted to gradually fuse the two powers with his will. Golden radiance and purple soul fluctuations intertwined, gradually forming a completely new energy form.
However, the fusion process did not go smoothly. The moment the two forces came into contact, a powerful repulsive force erupted, shoving Isaac's body away. He staggered back a few steps, a sharp pain shooting through his chest, and a trickle of blood even seeped from the corner of his mouth.
“It’s not that simple after all…” Isaac wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, but his eyes showed no sign of backing down. He took a deep breath, raised his hands again, and tried once more to fuse the rules with his soul power.
"Creator, your soul and the power of the rules are strong, but they are essentially two opposing extremes. If you cannot understand how they can coexist, you will not be able to overcome this obstacle." The voice of the will of destiny carried a hint of complexity.
Isaac closed his eyes, his consciousness sinking into the depths of his soul, sensing the origins of two forces. He recalled his journey: rules represented order and stability, while the soul symbolized freedom and creation. These two seemed contradictory, yet they were inextricably linked in every battle he fought, never truly separated.
“Perhaps I’ve overlooked some fundamental things…” Isaac murmured to himself, slowly opening his eyes, a newfound understanding flashing within them. He placed his hands on his chest, and the power of rules and the power of the soul no longer appeared in opposition, but rather intertwined like a double helix, gradually forming a wondrous resonance.
This resonance grew stronger and stronger, and the golden radiance and purple fluctuations gradually merged into one, transforming into a dazzling white light. This light was not blinding, but it carried an indescribable purity and inclusiveness, as if it could penetrate all obstacles and illuminate the deepest darkness.
“Success…” Isaac felt the newfound power within him, a slight smile playing on his lips. “This is the power of coexistence, the true union of rules and soul!”
Having said that, he stepped towards the purple mist. His body was enveloped in white light, and the mist, which attempted to erode his energy, was completely purified by the white light the instant it made contact. The purple in the mist gradually faded, replaced by a warm gold.
However, just as Isaac was about to pass through the light mist, a huge black shadow suddenly emerged from it. This shadow was like a giant beast, with thick limbs, piercing eyes, and an unparalleled sense of oppression.
“Creator, we’ve finally waited for you.” The shadowy figure spoke in a deep voice, its tone filled with coldness and hostility. “Your power is indeed impressive, but your network of destiny is destined to be destroyed, and you will fall here as well.”
"Is that so?" Isaac sneered, his eyes blazing with fighting spirit. "Since you corrupting forces are so persistent, then let me wipe you out completely and end all of this!"
The shadowy figure roared, its massive body leaping into the air and charging straight at Isaac. Its claws glowed with endless purple flames, seemingly capable of tearing apart any barrier of rules.
Isaac did not back down. He swiftly moved his hands, and the white light transformed into a longsword, slashing down to meet the attack of the dark figure.
"boom--"
The white longsword collided with the purple flames, unleashing a deafening roar. The entire Abyss of Destiny trembled violently, and the purple mist rapidly dispersed in the impact.
However, the shadowy figure did not retreat. Its body rapidly expanded, and two purple beams shot from its eyes, heading straight for Isaac.
Isaac snorted coldly, raising his hand to create a white barrier that completely blocked the beam of light. His body trembled slightly, and a trickle of blood seeped from the corner of his mouth, but his gaze grew even colder and more piercing.
"A mere projection dares to presume to end me?" Isaac roared, raising his hands high as white light rapidly condensed, transforming into an unprecedentedly massive battle blade.
"Destiny belongs to all life, not to you corruptors!" Isaac roared, brandishing his massive battle blade as he charged toward the heart of the shadow.
The battle blade ripped through the void, carrying an intensely bright light, and pierced directly into the shadowy figure's chest. The shadowy figure let out a painful roar, its body began to tremble violently, and finally it turned into countless purple fragments, completely dissipating into the void.
Isaac sheathed his blade, his gaze sweeping coldly over his surroundings. He could sense that the threat posed by the luminous mist had been eliminated, but at the end of the abyss of fate, an even more powerful being awaited him.
"Creator, your journey is not over yet." The voice of the will of destiny rang out again, tinged with complex emotion. "You must continue onward until all threats are completely eradicated and the path is paved for the balance of the new universe."
Isaac nodded, his eyes blazing with unwavering determination: "Destiny is the hope of all life, not a plaything of these invaders. I will make them vanish completely, paving the way for a bright future for the new universe!"
He turned and strode toward the edge of the abyss, his steps firm and his eyes blazing, ready to face even greater challenges.
