Chapter 4: 52 consecutive 3-pointers, surpassing NBA shooters' shooting skills?
Chapter 4: 52 consecutive 3-pointers, surpassing NBA shooters' shooting skills?
Inside the training hall.
Andre Iguodala, Luke Walton, Channing Frye, and others are doing extra practice at halftime.
As head coach Lute Olsen approached, everyone stopped in unison.
"Good morning, boss."
"Boss."
"It's alright, you guys continue." Lute Olsen was satisfied with the key players' preparation.
The NCAA March Madness tournament has reached the Final Eight. Under the brutal format, every detail on the court is extremely important, and the players are full of fighting spirit.
"Come on, Hansen, as agreed, I'll fetch two sets of balls for you, but there are only two sets," Lute Olsen said with a smile. "I can't help it, I'm getting old, my legs aren't what they used to be."
Li He smiled and said, "OK, thank you, Coach."
The reason Lute Olsen was asked to retrieve the ball was because Li He wanted to showcase his shooting ability in order to earn playing time in the game.
To participate in a talent show, one must make a name for themselves and attract attention in order to achieve a higher ranking and benefit their future development.
There's no need to worry about problems arising from performing too well, because there are far too many outrageous statistics in NCAA history.
Larry Bird: 47 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists;
O'Neal had 28 points, 18 rebounds, and 12 blocks in a single game;
Russell's final score was 26 points, 27 rebounds, and 20 assists.
Each one is more perverted than the last.
The NBA is a place that has never lacked talent. To give a recent example, when LeBron James was 15 years old, his fast breaks were almost level with the rim, which was even more outrageous than cheating.
Lute Olsen suggested, "Hansen, go warm up."
Li He then stretched his wrists and stepped directly onto the three-point line:
"Boss, it's just shooting hoops, no need to warm up."
"Young people are so arrogant. When are you going to get rid of your bad habits? Go stand at the free throw line."
There was nothing Li He could do but obediently step up to the free-throw line.
With the right foot slightly forward, core engaged, and the wrist snapped back in one fluid motion, the basketball traced a beautiful rainbow and swished through the net.
Lute Olsen under the basket was somewhat surprised; in just a few days, Li He's shooting form seemed to have changed.
This shooting form is so textbook perfect that it's hard to find any details that need adjustment.
"Keep going, continue."
Swish.
Swish.
The basket with the net is especially easy to shoot from.
After 10 shots in a row, Li He scored all of them, and all of them were swishes.
Coach Lute Olsen nodded in approval: "Good, Hansen. If you keep this up, you have a chance to become a good pitcher next season."
Upon hearing this, Li He's lips twitched, thinking to himself, "Coach, I can't wait until next season."
"Let's do another three-pointer," Li He suggested.
"Okay, focus, young man, I'll pass the ball very quickly," Lute Olsen said. "Find your rhythm!"
Li He positioned himself at a 45-degree angle on the right, and Lute Olsen's pass followed closely behind.
Catch the ball, shoot, and with a "swish," the three-pointer goes in cleanly!
Lute Olsen was extremely surprised by his seven consecutive hits. Hansen Lee seemed to be on fire today, his accuracy was outrageous.
Including free throws, he has made 17 consecutive shots!
As a result, on the last ball, Lute Olsen slipped, and the pass not only went wide but was also very low, completely disrupting Li He's rhythm.
"Terrible pass."
While Li He was complaining, he had already taken a step to the side, lowered his center of gravity to grab the basketball, took a small step to adjust his posture, and shot again!
Swish!
Another hit!
The basketball bounced and hit Lute Olsen on the head, but the legendary coach was stunned, recalling what had just happened.
In general, when a shooter is in a good rhythm during training, it is easy to get into the zone, but once the rhythm is broken, it becomes difficult to make shots.
The pass was terrible, but Hansen Lee still managed to receive it perfectly and shoot with an absolutely perfect form, even having time to chip the ball in the air, leaving Lute Olsen completely astonished.
This shooting level is absolutely NBA-level!
"Hansen, you..."
"What's all the chirping about? Go get the ball. It feels great."
"well……"
Lute Olsen was also eager to see how many three-pointers Li He, who was in such hot form, could sink in a row.
The team desperately needs an outside shooter, and Hansen Lee may be the right answer, or even a game-changer in the NCAA quarterfinals.
But what happened next left this legendary coach utterly astonished.
Another 10-point three-pointers in a row, bringing Li He's three-point shooting streak to 20.
It doesn't stop there.
What followed was even crazier.
"23 consecutive hits..."
"26 consecutive hits..."
When Li He hit 30 consecutive three-pointers, the Wildcats' starters on the opposite half of the court stopped training to observe Li He's shooting.
As his roommate and best friend, Andre Iguodala was the happiest:
"I knew it! Hansen's hard work paid off; I never expected his shooting talent to be so amazing!"
Luke Walton choked up for a moment: "Dude, we seem to have overlooked a super shooter..."
"32 consecutive hits..."
"38 consecutive hits..."
"40 consecutive hits!"
A cheer erupted in the training hall, then everyone murmured in unison, afraid of disrupting Li He's shooting rhythm.
Li He was completely in shooting mode, his touch was incredibly smooth, and the basket felt like the ocean.
Lute Olsen was also working hard to retrieve and pass the ball, taking each pass very seriously.
He has mentored many NBA players, including Steve Kerr, Jason Terry, Mike Bibby, and Gilbert Arenas, all of whom are excellent at three-point shooting and long-range shooting.
But at this moment, Li He gave him a feeling that far surpassed that of these NBA players!
Every shot was precise and accurate, his movements and postures seemed to have been honed through countless trials. More than 9 out of 40 shots were swishes, clean and crisp, without even a single lucky shot that bounced off the rim.
Watching Hansen Lee shoot basketballs is a pleasure and a joy to watch!
What on earth happened to this guy?!
Coach Lute Olsen felt a little ashamed when he recalled saying he would correct Li He's shooting posture.
I admit I was a bit too hasty...
"44..."
"...52?"
With a "bang," the 53rd three-pointer missed, and an "Oh!" echoed through the huge training hall, leaving everyone feeling disappointed.
Even so, making 52 three-pointers in a row was enough to make everyone look at Li He with new respect.
abnormal!
That's insane!
It's terrifyingly accurate!
Channing Frye had already made up his mind that if he and Li He were both on the court at the same time, he would definitely pass the rebound to this guy first.
With his insane shooting ability, he's definitely the one who should be trusted the most!
Wildcats star Jason Garnard also praised him, saying, "Hanson seems to possess the most enviable ability among guards!"
Li He, from the 52nd Company, cracked his knuckles and asked with a smile, "Boss, how's my shooting? Not bad, right?"
Lute Olsen let out a long sigh:
"Hansen, I didn't expect your shooting ability to be so strong!"
"Get ready, you might get playing time in the next game. Seize the opportunity and show your talent."
Hearing the coach say that, Li He was already satisfied.
The starting lineup has been playing together for almost a season, and their tactical familiarity and teamwork are much better. Lute Olsen certainly won't rashly put him on and disrupt the chemistry.
But it's alright.
Having the opportunity to play is enough.
Even if it's only for a few minutes, it's enough to make these people look at you with new respect.
