Is Chapter 221 a dream?
Is Chapter 221 a dream?
The rain had stopped half a day ago.
After securing the boat to the shore, Darui then went ashore and walked into the island.
"These are footprints!"
He discovered the footprints shortly after getting ashore, and after comparing the sizes, he concluded that they were most likely left by Chu Yi.
This rekindled hope in his heart, which had previously lost faith.
"Strange, why did the footsteps stop here?"
Darui was puzzled, but after looking more closely, he noticed the footprints on a small pile of grass nearby.
"Are they heading back again?"
He followed the trail back to the beach and finally saw the person he had been looking for.
If he had been more careful, he wouldn't have had to go through such a long detour.
"Fortunately, no one was hurt." He thought to himself.
Seeing Chu Yi sleeping soundly in the little tree hole, he felt a pang of heartache.
"Chu Yi, wake up..." he called softly, but the person in front of him didn't respond at all. If he hadn't checked her breathing, he would have thought she was dead.
After much deliberation, Darui decided to carry her out, as she must be very uncomfortable to see her curled up asleep.
Sure enough, after he carried the person out, Chu Yi's tightly furrowed brows relaxed.
"How exhausted must one be to fall asleep in that state and be unable to be woken up?" Darui sighed with heartache and led the person to the ship.
The boat is a bit small; it's already good enough that it has a cabin to shelter from the wind and rain.
There wasn't enough room to lie down in the cabin, but it was still better than the tree hollow on the island.
Finally, Darui found a place to lean against, and Chuyi, a small bundle in his arms, fell asleep with her head resting on his broad chest, covered with a piece of clothing.
He glanced down, his hands unconsciously tightening as he held the person close, as if embracing the whole world and filling his heart.
When Chu Yi woke up, she looked up and saw Darui, and subconsciously thought she was dreaming.
"That's strange, why would she dream about Teacher Darui?"
"Do you often dream about people you're afraid of?"
Chu Yi quickly closed her eyes, but when she opened them again, there was still no change.
Teacher Darui was actually looking at her with a half-smile.
"What a terrible nightmare!"
She muttered something and quickly closed her eyes, not daring to look any longer; it was too terrifying.
"Chu Yi, this isn't a dream. Your teacher found you last night," Darui said, both helpless and amused.
Chu Yi still looked incredulous when she heard this. "Is this person trying to trick me in my dreams? I won't fall for it."
Seeing Chu Yi's disbelief, Darui was speechless for a while before taking her hand and saying, "Your hand is warm. Does that prove you're not dreaming?"
Chu Yi shook her head, pinched a handful of flesh and twisted it. A flash of pain appeared on Darui's face, but she said, "I didn't feel any pain when I pinched myself just now, I must be dreaming."
"Chu Yi, is it possible that you were pinching me, your teacher?"
"And how much longer do you intend to linger in your teacher's arms?" A dark glint flashed deep in Darui's eyes.
Upon hearing this, Chu Yi immediately jumped up, and with a 'thud,' cried out, "Ouch..."
She covered her head, too afraid to make a sound, her eyes instantly filling with tears.
Darui pulled the person back into his arms, "Let me rub it for you!"
He said something, took out a bottle of medicine from his ninja tool bag, and applied it to the spot on her head where she had bumped it, rubbing it in.
"Are you feeling better?" he asked gently, afraid of frightening her.
Chu Yi nodded. She realized that the teacher wasn't so scary after all, and she felt quite safe.
"What are you looking at?" Darui asked casually.
"It's nothing, teacher. I just wanted to ask if we're going back?" Chu Yi said, looking a little embarrassed.
"Hmm, do you want to stay here?"
"Is it okay?" Chu Yi looked up at Darui with hopeful eyes.
"Can't!"
"You didn't come to this island just for this purpose, did you?" Darui guessed, looking at her.
"Is this teacher a mind reader? How could she guess all this?"
Darui saw her subtle expression and understood.
"You really want to stay here? Isn't the village good enough?" Darui asked, voicing his doubts.
"It's not bad, it's just a bit crowded," she said softly, fiddling with her fingers as she looked down.
"Don't be afraid, there are teachers in the village."
“If you like this island, stay and play for a couple of days. I can bring you here to play sometime,” Darui promised, taking her little hand in his.
"Teacher Darui, you seem to know water magic, I want to take a bath!" Chu Yi's eyes lit up when she saw a bucket nearby, and she didn't pay any attention to what Darui was saying.
"Okay!" Darui reluctantly agreed, realizing that all his previous explanations had been in vain.
"Oh, right, teacher, can I borrow a piece of clothing? I dropped all my things in the sea." A hint of shyness flashed across Chu Yi's face.
"Okay, but you'd better get off me first, so you don't hit your head again."
Upon hearing Darui's words, Chuyi's face turned even redder, and she quickly stood up and left the cabin.
After she left, Darui felt a void in his heart.
Chu Yi waited outside for a while before Darui came out of the cabin. He had been holed up in there all night, and with his large physique, maintaining the same position for so long, he was really sore.
But seeing Chu Yi made him feel that it was all worth it.
"Chu Yi, you can go in and wash now. I've put your clothes aside. I'll wait for you outside."
"Thank you, teacher!" She had recovered by now and was no longer afraid of Darui.
After closing the hatch, Chu Yi took off her clothes and stepped into the wooden tub next to her.
Fortunately, her body was rather petite, and the wooden tub was just the right size to accommodate her.
This cabin is really low; I really don't know how Teacher Darui managed to stay here for so long.
Half an hour passed...
An hour passed...
"Is this girl taking so long to take a shower? Why isn't she coming out yet?"
"Has something happened?"
Darui was getting restless, and just as he was about to go inside to take a look, Chuyi came out of the cabin.
The clothes were too big, and they felt very strange on her, so she unconsciously gripped them tighter.
She kept her head down, not daring to look at Darui even once, feeling very embarrassed.
Darui had never seen Chu Yi with her legs exposed before. He knew she was petite, but he didn't expect her to be this petite. Her legs looked even thinner than his arms.
"Teacher, I'd better put my clothes back on." Chu Yi felt increasingly ashamed as she had been in the past.
"Chu Yi, your clothes haven't been washed, and they look pretty good to me."
"Really? Teacher?" She looked up at me with a look that said, "Don't lie to me."
"Chu Yi, think about it, your teacher has never lied to you," Darui explained seriously.
What he said was indeed true; his disciple was really good-looking and looked good in anything.
Upon hearing this, Chu Yi realized it was indeed true, and finally loosened her grip on the clothes.
