Chapter 147 As You Like It
Chapter 147 As You Like It
Inside the room, Lone Star made sure no one was around, then pushed open the window and slipped out, heading towards the Iron Kingdom along the route she had planned.
"What overtime? She doesn't want to continue."
It's obvious that Hua Ling was behind this; the original body didn't even realize it, but she could have guessed it perfectly.
She was certain that Hua Ling wanted her to confront her true form, and she wouldn't let Hua Ling have her way.
While mentally complaining, Lone Star hurried on his way and soon arrived at the last line of defense.
She covered her entire body with spiritual energy to deal with this defense, making it seem as if she were in an empty place, and no one could detect her at all.
"Finally out." She glanced at the town behind her, showed no lingering attachment, and turned to leave.
"Thump..."
"That smells so familiar." Ignoring the pain in her forehead, she turned and ran.
"Wasn't she drugging him and putting him to sleep? How did he end up here?" Lone Star was very confused.
She had been worried that the drug wouldn't work on the Pain created from the corpse, so she had tested it many times. "Could it be that she's developed a resistance to the drug?"
"She can't be that unlucky!"
"Where do you want to go?" the young Payne asked, grabbing the man's arm.
"Senior, you...you've arrested the wrong person," Gu Xing said timidly.
Now she's wearing a mask, has changed out of her favorite red clothes, and her voice has changed, so it's quite possible she'll get away with it.
The next second, the mask on her face was removed by the young Payne.
She turned her head away from him, clearly still wanting to struggle a bit more.
"You're trying to run away again." He looked at her profile, his tone somewhat certain.
"I didn't, don't accuse me falsely," Gu Xing retorted instinctively.
"Innocent?" Young Payne looked incredulous.
"What kind of look is that? If I wanted to run away, I would have made thorough preparations. How could I let you catch me?"
"I was just in a bad mood today, so I came out to admire the moon to cheer myself up..." she said, looking up at the sky. "What the heck, where's the moon?"
Young Payne watched her performance quietly.
Lone Star looked a little embarrassed and changed the subject, "It's late, I should go back and rest."
However, she went in the opposite direction from the way back. "Good, I'll be able to get out of the range of Pain's ninjutsu soon."
"run!"
Her body suddenly became immobile. "Something's not right. We're clearly far enough away."
"You lied to me." Lone Star suddenly realized, glaring at the young Payne through gritted teeth.
"Who told you to always be thinking about running away?" Payne walked up to her, his voice cold.
"I told you I didn't run away, I just don't want to continue participating in the Chunin Exams." She stated the truth directly, and then added, "I'm going back to the village first."
Young Payne stared at her. "Why? This isn't like you."
It's strange that she's willing to give up the competition when she loves money so much.
“She can’t just say she doesn’t want to fight the main body and let someone else watch the show!” Lone Star suddenly had a flash of inspiration and said, “A powerful figure has taken a liking to me.”
Upon hearing this, young Payne was speechless. "You always wear a mask during your matches. How did the Daimyo manage to see through the mask and recognize you?"
Lone Star pursed his lips, stiffened his neck, and said, "How would I know? Maybe it's because I have a good figure."
"Let me tell you, don't even think about using me to get close to the daimyo. I will never compromise."
Seeing his silence, she felt a pang of sadness. "Have you been thinking about this for a while now?"
"What is this idiot thinking all day? She doesn't trust him at all." Payne felt a surge of anger. He had to pamper his subordinates. He suppressed his anger and said, "Don't worry, no daimyo will be interested in you."
These words instantly ignited the anger in Lone Star's heart. "Listen to this, is he even speaking human language?"
Is she ugly?
"And did what he said also contain some other meaning?"
"If a powerful figure takes a liking to her, he will send her away."
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became, and her hands clenched involuntarily. "Damn it, this time she insisted on leaving the Akatsuki. She doesn't want to be someone else's pawn."
When young Payne saw her like this, he knew she was probably overthinking things again.
"Here you go!" Lone Star ripped off the necklace from her neck and threw it over.
Her spiritual energy surged wildly, not only erasing the talismans on her body but also removing another mark hidden within her.
Young Payne's face instantly turned cold. "Don't test my limits."
He pulled the person into his arms, saying, "If this is all you can do, you can't escape."
"Of course not, I will defeat you myself and leave," Lone Star said viciously.
With a clang, she drew the soft sword hidden at her waist, and the next second, the sword fell to the ground.
A flicker of confusion crossed her eyes, before she reverted to her furious expression. "What exactly did you do to my body?"
"No comment!" His tone was quite cold, making Lone Star grit his teeth in annoyance. "Is returning to your original form the only way?"
She lowered her eyes, pondering the consequences of doing so, and it seemed even more terrifying than staying in Xiao.
"Ugh... I'm so angry!" She glared at him and turned to walk towards the Land of Iron.
Before she could even take a step out, her collar was grabbed. She turned around and said irritably, "What else?"
Young Payne didn't respond, but instead tied the necklace she had just thrown away back on. Lone Star rolled her eyes at him and said, "This guy is so annoying, she's not going to give him a friendly look."
"Don't overthink things, trust me." He stroked her hair, gently pulled her into his arms, and whispered.
"Give her a beating and then offer her a sweet treat; she won't fall for that."
"And that sounds weird, don't think you can fool her." Lone Star looked disdainful, but soon she was attracted by the young Payne's physique.
She couldn't resist poking it herself, counting, "One, two, three..."
"Is that an eight-pack or a six-pack...?" A hint of hesitation flashed across her face. "I wish I could see it."
"Have you poked enough?" A voice suddenly came from above. She broke free of her embrace, looking fearless. "It would be even better if I could see it." Lone Star was eager to know if her guess was correct.
Upon hearing this, the young Payne was momentarily taken aback, but fortunately, he maintained his poker face and didn't reveal any flaws.
He looked up at her face, scanning it from top to bottom. When he saw that blush, his throat bobbed involuntarily. Payne followed his heart and lowered his head to kiss her.
"Screw her, you're taking advantage of her again!"
"She used to complain about her looks, but what does she mean now?"
But she was destined not to speak, as her words were swallowed up by a deluge of kisses.
After a long while, young Payne finally stopped, looking at Lone Star with somewhat dazed eyes, and asked, "Is this what she means by liking someone?"
He paused, his voice slightly hoarse, and said, "After so many times, haven't you learned how to breathe?"
These words immediately brought Gu Xing back to his senses. "Taking advantage of her and then complaining about her, how can there be such an annoying person?"
"Could he have kissed other women before?" The thought that she had even taken the initiative a little earlier made her feel terrible.
"You just wait!" Gu Xing said fiercely and tried to break free, but was still firmly held in place.
"I think you should practice more," young Payne suggested, kissing her forehead.
"What do you mean by that..." Before she could finish speaking, her mouth was sealed again. "Mmm..."
"Damn it, when will this ever end!" she roared inwardly, but it was no use. However, she finally knew how many abs Payne had.
Her act of secretly touching her abs made young Payne's kiss even more passionate, and before she knew it, she herself was lost in the kiss.
