Chapter 132 Found
Chapter 132 Found
About half an hour later.
"Hey... the snow has stopped, you can go now." Darui noticed that there hadn't been any snow sliding down from above for more than ten minutes, so he figured the avalanche had ended and gave a reminder.
He waited a while and there was no response. "Could it be that it's asleep? But it's incredibly careless."
Although the two villages have now ceased hostilities, it does not mean that there are no conflicts.
Darui tried several times to reach out and shake her awake, but ultimately didn't. He felt it was inappropriate to leave on his own; the platform was just one step away from an abyss, and if she fell asleep, the consequences would be unimaginable.
"Let's stay here a little longer and wait for her to wake up. Consider it a life-saving favor." Darui had clearly forgotten what Uchiha Yoh had done to him, and how he had just robbed him of all his money.
Time was ticking away, second by second.
At that moment, voices came from above.
"Ye...where are you..."
"Ye...respond when you hear me speak..."
"leaf..."
Uchiha Itachi struggled through the snow, calling out again and again.
After so much time, his voice had become somewhat hoarse.
Uchiha Yoh seemed to sense something and opened her eyes. She got up to leave and noticed Darui was still there. "Huh? Why haven't you left yet?"
"We're waiting for someone!" Darui blurted out, but as soon as he said it, he realized it was inappropriate and was immediately met with a sarcastic remark.
"I didn't expect someone as big as you to need someone to rescue you!"
"Then you wait here, I'm leaving now. See you in the Chunin Exams."
Uchiha Ye made his move, controlling his chakra to attach to his feet, and then used his sword to smash through the ice on the cliff before attaching his feet to it and slowly climbing up.
As Darui watched her slowly disappear from sight, a pang of reluctance stirred within him. "He must be insane."
The more he thought about it, the more his mind was filled with the image of Uchiha Yoh with a slightly wicked smile.
The first thing Uchiha Ye did after arriving was to collapse on the snow and complain, "It took her so long to cover such a short distance."
However, the ice on these cliffs has accumulated quite a bit over the years.
"leaf..."
"leaf..."
"..."
"Huh? That's Itachi's voice!"
"Then what she just heard wasn't a hallucination."
Uchiha Ye quickly got up and ran in the direction of the sound, shouting as he ran, "Itachi, I'm here!"
Itachi turned around when he heard the sound. Just then, Uchiha Yoru tripped over a dry branch on the snow and fell to the ground. As a result, the snow piled up by the nearby trees fell directly on her, burying her completely.
"It's poisonous, really poisonous. She's fallen so many times in the snow."
Uchiha Ye spat out the snow in his mouth, feeling extremely frustrated.
"Am I imagining things?" Itachi Uchiha shook his head.
He soon noticed that there was a raised snowdrift moving not far ahead.
"It must be Ye. He didn't mishear that voice." Itachi quickly ran towards that location.
Uchiha Ye had just peeked out from under the snow when another clump of snow fell down. "This is so unfair!"
"What should I do? I feel a little sad."
"Itachi must have gone far away." She suddenly felt reluctant to move.
Just as she thought that, she heard a rustling sound.
Before long, a figure she knew all too well appeared before her.
Itachi's gaze fell down, and Ye Baixi's skin was slightly red, her eyes were wet, as if she had suffered some great injustice, which made Itachi's heart ache.
"Ye, what's wrong?"
Uchiha Ye sat up without saying a word, wrapped his arms around Itachi's neck, and complained, "Itachi, this tree is bullying me."
As soon as she finished speaking, the big tree she was pointing to seemed to cooperate by letting snow fall from it.
"See!" Uchiha Ye let go of his hand, looking speechless. However, with Itachi by his side this time, even though he was hit again, he didn't seem so upset.
Itachi breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that she was alright. He brushed the snow off her and said, "Ye, you promised me you wouldn't act on your own after leaving the village. Have you forgotten?"
"I'm sorry, I'll remember next time," she replied softly, reaching out to brush the snow off Itachi's hair.
"There can't be a next time." He hugged her tightly, his tone firm and resolute. He truly couldn't imagine losing her.
Then snowflakes began to fall from the sky.
"Itachi, it's snowing again."
"Let's have a snowball fight!" she suggested, resting her head on Itachi's shoulder.
"Ye, we've been out for a long time. Jiraiya-sama is waiting for us to go back. We'll play with you when we get back," Itachi said, stroking Ye's hair.
"Alright!" Uchiha Ye left Itachi's embrace and then said, "Itachi, the way back is all slopes, and my skis are broken. We shouldn't walk back, right?"
"Of course not." Itachi affectionately brushed aside her bangs and took out his skis.
Uchiha Ye blinked. "Itachi, it seems like there's not enough room for two people to stand here."
"Um... I'll hold you in a bit." When Itachi Uchiha said this, his ears visibly turned red, but thankfully his hair covered them.
Seeing Itachi's calm demeanor, Uchiha Ha didn't think much of it, but still asked, "Itachi, can you carry me?"
"Ye, I've been training in taijutsu all along, so don't worry." Itachi explained earnestly, but inwardly he was wondering, "Shouldn't he spend more time training in taijutsu? Otherwise, how can he let Ye question his physical abilities?"
Upon hearing Itachi's explanation, Uchiha Ye's mind went blank for a moment, but fortunately, she had already mastered the ability to remain expressionless. She quickly changed the subject and said, "Itachi, let's go back!"
Itachi grunted in response, then scooped the person up in his arms and placed them steadily on the skis.
The snow fell heavier and heavier, and the hair that the two had just tidied was covered with snowflakes again.
Seeing Itachi's hair covered in snowflakes, Uchiha Ye couldn't help but recall a line of poetry: "If we are bathed in snow together in the future, we can be considered to have grown old together in this life."
"Ye, what are you thinking about?" Itachi took a moment to look at her.
"N-nothing..." Uchiha Ye shook his head.
Suddenly, she fell from a great height, her hand tightly gripping Itachi's clothes.
Itachi noticed her movement and tightened his grip on her. "Ye, trust me, I won't let anything happen to you."
She gave a soft "hmm," then pressed herself against Itachi, absorbing his warmth and feeling incredibly safe.
