Chapter 128 Reconstruction
Wei Hongsi led Zhang Shengyong to the 16th floor and invited him to sit in his office.
As soon as Zhang Shengyong entered, he exclaimed in surprise, "Wow, you've become a leader at Zhiwei? This office is even bigger than your brother's."
Wei Hongsi said, "It's temporary; it's a work requirement."
"Oh." Zhang Shengyong nodded. "But given your contributions to your company in this case, it wouldn't be unreasonable for you to be a junior manager."
Then, remembering Yuan Zhenhui whom she had just met, who was clearly working as Wei Hongsi's assistant, she said, "Wait a minute, aren't you already a junior leader?"
Wei Hongsi smiled and said, "I guess so, but it hasn't been announced yet."
"You're pretty good, kid!" Zhang Shengyong praised with a smile, taking a USB drive out of his bag and handing it to Wei Hongsi. "All the information you needed is here."
Wei Hongsi took it, plugged it into the computer, and opened it. Inside were more than a hundred numbered folders, as well as an instruction document and a spreadsheet.
These materials are documents containing "psychological viruses" received by people at potential risk of infection.
Previously, it was fine if Wei Hongsi only needed Shen Qing's information, but it would take a lot of time to classify and summarize the information of so many people. In addition, the content of this information involves the confidentiality of the case, so Zhang Shengyong brought it over.
The task force's assessment of individuals at potential infection risk was based primarily on two criteria.
One set of materials included the dream interpretations of key members of the Guiding Light Society, as well as the testimonies of those involved in the case. Anyone they had targeted and interacted with could become a potential target.
Another task was to check whether the videos these people received contained "psychological viruses." The detection model used by the task force was provided by Zhiwei, but it wasn't running on Zhiwei's servers.
Receiving a video doesn't necessarily mean sending the file to the target; it could also mean uploading it online and having the target see it through a video link or some kind of push mechanism.
While "psychological viruses" created targeting individuals are far less harmful than those targeting groups, their unique characteristics allow for targeted attacks.
For example, a short video might not affect others, but it can have a significant impact on a target, making it highly covert in its use.
This principle is somewhat similar to that of gene viruses. However, gene coding is much more complex, allowing it to target only specific individuals. Human emotions, on the other hand, lack such fine granularity, so if many people are affected, it can cause "collateral damage."
The task force estimates that approximately 140 people are at risk, but this assessment is based solely on the current investigation. As the investigation is not yet complete, this number may rise in the future.
In fact, after understanding the principles of "psychological viruses," the expert team can also make a diagnosis of whether someone is infected, but this is limited to cases with a small number of people, as they cannot complete the diagnosis for so many people in a short period of time.
Furthermore, after making a diagnosis, treating the infected individuals is beyond the scope of the expert team's work, and they had no contingency plans for this.
Another characteristic of "psychological viruses" created specifically for individuals is that, because they are tailor-made, the probability of the target being infected is extremely high. Experts estimate that at least 80% of those 140 people will be diagnosed, which is far higher than the approximately 34% figure for group "psychological viruses" (referring to the amusement park's GG plan B).
Therefore, entrusting this task to Zhiwei is the best and most reasonable choice.
For Zhiwei, this is also an excellent opportunity.
No matter how many simulations Wei Hongsi and his team conduct, none are as convincing as practical data. Those 140 people are 140 samples. The "psychological viruses" they created will have many commonalities, but they are not entirely the same. They are excellent research subjects.
I believe that once this commission is completed, the work of both project teams will be optimized and improved.
Wei Hongsi glanced at the information and then put it away.
Zhang Shengyong said, "Before we came out, the leader asked me to ask you what you think about Shen Qing becoming a key target of that organization."
Wei Hongsi said, "I thought of something this afternoon that you can use as a reference. They might want to use Shen Qing to create a 'psychological virus' using music as a medium."
Zhang Shengyong noted this down and added, "According to your brother's investigation over the past two days, Zhou Huai had his eye on Shen Qing at least two and a half years ago, before she became a singer."
Wei Hongsi understood what he meant. If the goal was to use singers to spread "psychological viruses," the Guiding Light Association could easily find an existing or newly debuted singer; there was no need to go through such a long process.
Therefore, his speculation could only be one of the reasons; the Light Guide Association must have other motives.
What makes Shen Qing stand out from the crowd?
Wei Hong thought for a moment, then slowly shook his head: "I can't think of anything else for now."
Zhang Shengyong sighed softly, "It's really puzzling."
Wei Hongsi went out to get Zhang Shengyong a cup of tea and came back to place it on the coffee table: "Have a seat first, I'll take a look at Shen Qing's analysis data."
"You go about your business." Zhang Shengyong waved his hand, picked up his teacup, and took a sip.
At this point, Shen Qing had already completed two rounds of monitoring.
Wei Hongsi opened the monitoring data, looked at it for a while, and then opened the analysis data of several videos containing "psychological viruses" made for Shen Qing and compared them with the monitoring data.
After pondering for a while, he asked, "What is the personal relationship between Shen Qing and Zhou Huai?"
Zhang Shengyong said, "It's similar to the relationship between a teacher and a student, or an older senior student and a younger junior student."
"That's all?"
"At least that's what Shen Qing said."
"Didn't she say anything else?"
"Why don't you ask her? I think you two get along quite well."
"How can you ask the person involved this kind of question directly?" Wei Hongsi couldn't help but glance at Zhang Shengyong.
Zhang Shengyong asked in surprise, "What do you mean? Shouldn't their relationship be closer?"
Wei Hongsi said, "According to the conclusions of the simulation analysis, the 'psychological virus' that Zhou Huai sent to Shen Qing contained an element of emotional dependence."
Zhang Shengyong said, "You mean, Zhou Huai wants to develop a romantic relationship with her?"
Wei Hongsi said, "It doesn't necessarily have to be lovers, but it should at least be a very close relationship, such as siblings, uncle and nephew, father and daughter, best friends, etc."
Zhang Shengyong felt that Wei Hongsi's analogy was somewhat inappropriate, but he could understand his meaning.
"Could it be that Shen Qing didn't tell the truth to protect her privacy?" he pondered. "But she and Zhou Huai really didn't meet or have much contact."
Wei Hongsi said, "This is consistent with her monitoring data today."
Zhang Shengyong asked, puzzled, "Then that means she wasn't infected. What's so strange about that?"
"She was still affected to some extent, but only to a very minor degree," Wei Hongsi said, pointing to the data on the screen. "So don't you find it strange that she was a key target of that organization?"
