Chapter 60 Captain Marvel Arrives
Chapter 60 Captain Marvel Arrives
"This reaction, this, this is impossible." Mordo could hardly believe the alarm before him.
Wang had already rushed to the front of the observation platform, drawing complex magic circles in the air with his hands, and a holographic projection appeared.
A point of light is passing through the atmosphere at speeds exceeding the limits of physics, its energy index rising every millisecond. It is a life form with an energy density comparable to that of a small star.
"This is abnormal. Based on the current situation, there is residual energy from the Space Stone." Wang magnified the spectrum of the light spot. "But shouldn't the Space Stone be in Asgard right now?"
Mordo walked to Wang's side, his face turning ashen as he looked at the data: "Frey's trump card."
"And it's an ace up its sleeve."
Wang closed his eyes, rapidly considering all possibilities in his mind: "Notify the Holy Lord."
Mordo was stunned: "What did you say?"
"I said to inform the Holy Lord," Fury repeated, "that being's energy surpasses that of most dimensional demons recorded by the Ancient One. Judging from Fury's previous behavior, he's mentally unstable. We can't entrust the future of the Sanctum Sanctorum to a madman!"
"But Holy Lord..." Mordo wanted to say something more.
Before he could finish speaking, Wang interrupted him: "Come and look at this."
Wang Yong used magic to create two wavebands, which intertwined yet also repelled each other.
"The aura of chaos magic and the space stone, the connection between them..." Mordo whispered.
Wang nodded: "If the reinforcements Fury summons clash with Wanda, the entire Earth will become their battlefield when these two forces collide!"
The location of the Holy Lord surprised the King; instead of choosing a secluded place, he chose Stark Tower.
The king looked around; the decorations in the palace were all in a style he had never seen before.
The king looked at the Holy Lord sitting on the throne, while Wanda stood beside him, looking at him with hostility.
"Master Wang," the Holy Lord's tone carried undisguised authority, "have you thought it through? Do you know how to answer?"
"No, the Sanctuary will not compromise on your question," the king replied.
"Wanda, see the guest out." The Holy Lord didn't waste any words.
"Master Wang, please." Wanda suddenly appeared beside Wang, and chaotic magic propelled Wang's body outward.
"Wait a minute, I came to you to seek cooperation," Wang said hurriedly.
The Holy Lord waved his hand, and Wanda stopped what she was doing: "Speak."
Wang breathed a sigh of relief and gathered his thoughts: "The reinforcements Fury summoned will pose a threat to Earth. When his power clashes with Wanda's, the entire Earth will become their battlefield."
"What benefits do I get?" the Holy Lord provoked.
Wang paused, hesitated for a moment, and said, "I know you are also a magician. For magicians, knowledge is power. After everything is over, I can agree to let you and Wanda go to the library of the Sanctuary for a few days."
Wang then changed the subject: "Besides, as you know, Fury's target is you, and his reinforcements are also targeting you. Having our help will only benefit you."
After thinking for a moment, Shendu realized that he was a powerful magician in his original world. The Marvel universe has its own unique magic system, and Wanda's chaos magic was something he had never seen before. Learning the magic here would be entirely beneficial to him.
"Deal made," the Holy Lord replied.
Two hours later, Captain Marvel landed in Manhattan.
She arrived at Fury's residence.
"You've come." She could hear an unprecedented weariness in Fury's voice.
"So what happened? The Earth is completely different now than when I left. I need to know the details," Carol asked.
Fury was silent for a moment, then told her about the recent events, of course concealing all the stupid things he had done and portraying himself as a loser who was wholeheartedly trying to protect the Earth.
Carol frowned as she listened. She had noticed the military's bounty on Fury when she was walking down the streets of New York. If Fury, the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D., were truly dedicated to Earth, the military would not have gone to such lengths.
Moreover, even if S.H.I.E.L.D. were destroyed, under normal circumstances, given Fury's status, he could easily rally a group of followers, instead of hiding here like he is now.
"It seems like things are really serious. Are there no agents left in S.H.I.E.L.D.?" Carol asked tentatively.
Fury led her to the next room, where Steve and the others were: "Don't worry, they're all on our side and haven't been affected by the Holy Spirit's Mind Stone."
Natasha looked up at the newcomer and said, "Fury, is she the reinforcement you mentioned? Can she really stand against Shendu?"
Carol listened to Natasha's doubts and said coldly, "Put away your doubts. There aren't many life forms in the entire universe that can harm me. As long as I take action, I can definitely solve the problem."
Natasha shrugged: "It's not that we don't trust you. The fact that we're still following him speaks volumes. We believe in his position, but his past actions require us to be cautious."
"Natasha!" Fury knew what Natasha was about to say.
"It seems he was indeed hiding something from you." Natasha said calmly, but did not reveal what Fury had been hiding.
Carol chuckled dismissively: "It doesn't matter. Given our relationship, even if he's hiding something, I'm willing to believe him. As for what gives him that confidence, you don't need to worry about that."
Carol raised her hand and unleashed a burst of energy that shattered the barrier between them: "Strength, unparalleled power is my greatest source of confidence."
Carol stared into Natasha's eyes: "When power reaches a certain level, all concealment becomes useless."
Seeing that Natasha wanted to say something more, Carol interrupted, "Shut up. I'll handle the rest. Now, all you need to do is tell me where this so-called Holy Lord is."
The Holy of Holies.
Before Wang and Mordo was a projected map of New York.
"What should we do?" Mordo asked.
Wang: "Prepare a large mirror space and set up a barrier within it to prevent the aftershocks of the battle from affecting reality, while also controlling Fury and the others' movement space."
Mordo paused for a moment before saying, "But this requires a very strong barrier. If it's to be set up, it needs to be in a fixed location, and we can't guarantee that the target can accurately reach that location."
Wang nodded: "You're right, but this is indeed not something we should be thinking about. This is something the Holy Lord should be concerned with. We just need to provide the space."
Stark Industries, the palace of the Holy Lord.
The Holy Lord sat on his throne, calculating the probability of victory in his mind. After a while, the corners of his mouth couldn't help but turn up. The probability was one hundred percent.
He knows everything about Captain Marvel, and he also has Wanda's assistance. In the Doctor Strange movies, Wanda easily defeated Captain Marvel from Universe 838, whose abilities were the same as those in the main universe.
What he really needs to consider now is how to preserve Captain Marvel's powers.
