Chapter 26 I am indeed a demon
Chapter 26 I am indeed a demon
Deep in the alley is an abandoned hospital, which was destroyed by a Leviathan during the previous battle. According to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s repair schedule, it will take several more days to repair this area.
The Holy Lord summoned a ninja and had him keep watch in the shadows.
He placed the ants in a room in the abandoned hospital, activated the Monkey Talisman, and Glenn's figure appeared before him.
"Where am I? Where is Mr. Stark?" Glenn looked around in a panic, surrounded by unfamiliar surroundings and people.
Glenn still remembers the moment "Tony" turned him into an ant; it was a power he had never seen before.
"Don't worry, there's no one around. I have some questions for you."
The Holy Lord walked up to Glenn, not afraid that he would escape, nor did he tie him up.
"Who are you."
Glenn stared at the Holy Lord, trying to move his body, but found that his limbs were difficult to control for a while. He needed time to adapt to his restored body after turning from an ant back into a human.
The Holy Lord ignored Glenn's question and pulled up a chair to sit down: "Have you seen someone who can become invisible before?"
Glenn was taken aback. He remembered that "Tony" had said something similar before. Had S.H.I.E.L.D. discovered something?
He had heard that S.H.I.E.L.D. had a special group of agents to handle missions that were not convenient to be seen in public, and the man in front of him was likely one of those agents.
"I've never seen it, I've never even heard of it." Glenn's eyes were firm.
The Holy Lord had anticipated this response and wasn't in a hurry: "It's said that S.H.I.E.L.D. agents undergo endurance training. I wonder what your rank was back then."
Glenn saw the other person place a large fly doll in front of him, followed by a buzzing sound, and the fly doll in front of him came to life.
Glenn stared at the fly in front of him, which was as big as his head. The fly's mouthparts kept hovering over his face, and he felt a chill run down his spine. He simply closed his eyes and stopped looking.
The Holy Lord was not in a hurry to see this scene. He did not expect that he could make the other party talk with just one method. If it was only this simple, then the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would be too insignificant.
Glenn silently counted the time in his mind. When he felt that the time was almost up and he could control his body, he tried to raise his arm, but found that he could not lift it no matter what he did.
He opened his eyes slightly and found that part of his arm had turned to stone, and the Holy Lord was using a small knife to slowly cut away the fingers behind the stone.
Because part of his arm was petrified, he could not feel any pain and could only watch helplessly as the Holy Lord dismembered him.
"What are you doing!" Glenn ignored the flies on his face and stared wide-eyed.
When the Holy Lord saw Glenn open his eyes, he activated the talisman to restore the stone to its original state. Intense pain instantly assaulted Glenn's brain, and Glenn cried out in pain.
The fly took the opportunity to stick its mouthparts into Glenn's mouth.
Glenn reacted violently, flicking the fly away with his other hand and vomiting.
The Holy Lord caught the fly and turned it back into a toy: "So, you want to talk now?"
Glenn remained silent, staring intently at the Holy Lord.
"Are you familiar with the uncanny valley effect?" Shendu suddenly asked. "Do you think if someone who looked exactly like you appeared, would they completely replace you?"
The Holy Lord thought for a moment and then continued, "I remember you have a wife and a three-year-old daughter, right?"
"What are you going to do? If you dare to lay a hand on them, I will never let you get away with it!" Glenn roared with all his might.
The Holy Lord waved his hand: "Don't worry, it wasn't me who attacked them."
Glenn saw the Holy Lord take another box out of his pocket, inside which was a white maggot.
The maggot was placed on the ground by the Holy Lord, and Glenn saw the maggot's form changing, growing bigger and longer, growing limbs, and finally becoming a human, a human who looked exactly like him.
"Do you think if I put this 'you' on your front door, your wife and children would mistake it for you?"
The Holy Lord looked at "Glenn" crawling on the ground, his tone provocative: "Will they really mistake this maggot for you and make him the father figure in their family?"
Glenn's eyes flashed with murderous intent: "You're a demon."
"Imagine your daughter crying while hugging a 'maggot father,' your wife will only think you suffered a major attack during the mission, and you'll just be an outsider watching helplessly as a maggot completely replaces you."
The Holy Lord became more and more excited as he spoke. Since coming into this world, he had been suppressing his demonic instincts at all times, and he had not experienced the feeling of doing evil for a long time.
"You demon, you'll go to hell for this!" Glenn roared.
"Hell? Actually, I am indeed a demon." The Holy Lord's tone was sincere, but to Glenn, he only thought that the man in front of him was a madman.
Glenn felt nauseous looking at the "maggot Glenn" on the ground. The thought that what the Holy Lord had said would actually happen caused his last line of defense to crumble.
"Fine, I'll tell you, but you have to guarantee that nothing will happen to my wife and children," Glenn said weakly.
The Holy Lord raised an eyebrow: "You seem to have misjudged the situation. Are you trying to negotiate with me?"
"Yes, in exchange for the information you need." Glenn mustered his strength, trying to project an air of authority.
After a brief moment of thought, the Holy Lord said, "Alright, I agree."
Glenn took a deep breath and shared what he knew: "During a previous mission, my partner obtained a stone from a robber. There was a snake drawn on the stone."
"During subsequent operations, we discovered that this stone could make us invisible, and we thought this was the opportunity to become a high-level agent."
"But there was only one stone, and I wanted to keep it for myself, so one night I killed my companion."
"So, you hid the stone?" the Holy Lord asked in return.
Glenn lowered his head, as if regretting what had happened: "No, the stone isn't with me now. I got it a few days ago when Agent Natasha found out and snatched it away."
Natasha? The Holy Lord thought of the situation in the interrogation room yesterday. At that time, the other party's performance was very natural, without any flaws. Even in the part where she caught Glenn who was invisible, she did not reveal any flaws.
The Holy Lord frowned deeply. He clearly remembered that he could not sense the aura of the Serpent Talisman on Natasha at all.
There is only one possibility: the other party never used the snake charm after obtaining it.
"That's all I know. If you want more information, you'll have to go to Agent Natasha," Glenn interrupted the Holy Lord's thoughts.
Glenn thought for a moment and then added, "Considering you just promised to protect my wife and children, I'll tell you another piece of information: Agent Natasha is problematic."
