Chapter 20 The Shadow Legion
Chapter 20 The Shadow Legion
Quill has returned to be with his mother, and now only the Holy Lord and Dragon remain in these ruins.
Because of the gas station explosion and the wild boar rampage that night, all the surveillance cameras around the area were broken.
Just in case, the Holy Lord still used the power of the Rat Talisman to investigate the surroundings.
"Good, there are no surveillance cameras."
After confirming that the surroundings were safe, the Holy Lord uttered a deep incantation, and the shadow of the Holy Lord in front of him instantly lengthened and split.
Several humanoid creatures emerged from the shadow of the Holy Lord.
He was thin, wore a mask, and was completely covered in a standard black tight-fitting ninja outfit, revealing only a pair of bright red, glowing eyes.
The Shadow Legion—this is the power that the Holy Lord gained when he absorbed the Nija Mask in the original world.
The Holy Lord turned to look at his personal guard, his brow furrowing slightly: "With our current strength, we can only summon three ninjas?"
However, three is enough for now.
"Mr. Coulson." Coulson appeared before an agent during the shift change the next day.
"You were involved in yesterday's bombing, right? I need all the information from yesterday," Coulson said to the agent in an unyielding tone. "It's not convenient here. Follow me."
The agent felt something was off. He clearly remembered that Coulson was at the explosion site yesterday, and given Coulson's status, he should have known more about the situation than he did. Why was Coulson asking him?
But the agent followed anyway; Coulson must have had his reasons for doing what he did.
"It's absurd that someone would turn out to be Agent Coulson and deliberately harm me."
With that thought in mind, the agent followed "Coulson" into an alley.
"You're a minute late today," his colleague reminded the "agent" as he returned to his post. "Be more careful next time, don't let Mr. Coulson find out."
The "agent" nodded in response to his colleague, but the colleague didn't notice the red glint in the eyes of the person next to him.
"Have you said goodbye to your mother?" the Holy Lord asked Quill in the temporary command center.
Under the guidance of the Holy Lord, Quill and his team progressed quickly in their work, and nothing strange happened during this period.
"Yes, it's quite hard to leave, having only just met my mother a few days ago," Quill said with emotion. "But, you know, I still have my own career, and my teammates need me."
A roar came from the sky, and a spaceship appeared in sight.
"My teammates are here too." Quill waved to the spaceship.
The Holy Lord watched as the spaceship door opened and a small, gray-brown raccoon stepped out.
Those raccoons look fierce.
"Oh my god!" The raccoon jumped to Quill's side, staring at Shendu in shock, his mouth agape. "What kind of creature is this? I've never seen anything like it in the universe."
"This is... a raccoon?" The Holy Lord was also curious about the other party.
"Go to hell!" Rocket Raccoon jumped up, wanting to hit Shendu with a stick.
"Calm down." Quill held Rocket Raccoon in the air, and the raccoon could only weakly swing its legs in his arms.
"Here, take this."
Quill took a stone from Rocket Raccoon's backpack and handed it to Shendu: "This is an item I bought at an auction. It can change your appearance, but be careful, it can only be used once."
Quill deliberately raised his voice when he said "can change external form," and Steve, who was handing over the work to the workers, glanced over curiously.
The Holy Lord understood his meaning and accepted the stone: "Thank you."
After handing over with S.H.I.E.L.D., Quill followed Rocket Raccoon back to the spaceship.
"Isn't that just an ordinary rock? What, are you trying to trick that creature?" Rocket Raccoon clicked his tongue. "You're really wicked. That thing is just an ordinary glowing rock."
Quill shrugged: "It's a scam, but it's targeting that American guy with the nice butt, blond, big chest."
Shendu watched Quill leave, quite pleased with this temporary ally, who even helped him out of S.H.I.E.L.D. after leaving.
"Is it all over?"
The Holy Lord came to Steve's side and looked at the list in his hand, which showed the quantity of various pieces of debris and how to use them.
"Yeah, it's all over," Steve said, putting away the list. "Are you going to change forms? That unreliable kid was actually quite kind."
The Holy Lord took out the stone Quill had given him, and Steve looked at it curiously: "Is this stone really that magical? It doesn't look special at all."
"Who knows? After all, it's something from outside Earth." The Holy Lord shrugged.
The Holy Lord exerted force in his hand, and the stone emitted a blinding light, making it difficult for Steve to open his eyes. The Monkey Talisman took the opportunity to activate.
The form of the Holy Lord changed before Steve until the light disappeared and the stone in his hand automatically turned to dust.
Steve sized up the new man who had appeared in front of him.
He was a tall, muscular white man with blond hair tied in a neat ponytail, blue eyes, wearing a dark green suit, and handsome features.
"Little Dragon?" Steve exclaimed incredulously.
The Holy Lord nodded slightly: "It is I."
The current image of the Holy Lord is that of his former subordinate named Valon, and he is quite satisfied with it.
Just as Steve was still observing, a hissing sound came from above.
Tony, clad in his armor, landed in front of the two.
"Where's Valmont?" Tony ignored Shendu beside him and walked straight toward Steve.
Steve pointed to Shendu beside him: "He, he's Little... Valon."
Tony looked Shendu up and down, saying, "What happened to you? And what's wrong with your taste? That green suit is awful."
"Quill gave him a deformable stone before he left," Steve explained from the side, recounting what had just happened.
The Holy Lord watched from the side without interrupting. "What a pushover," the Holy Lord thought to himself.
Tony's eyes narrowed as he listened to Steve's description. He thought of the possibility of the Monkey Talisman, but didn't say it aloud.
"Oh, I see." Tony said, feigning an understanding look.
"That's not the point. Luckily, Valon is right next to us, so we don't have to look for you."
Steve controlled his armor to pop up a holographic screen, which showed the ruins of the exploded gas station.
"I went to that gas station area again today and specifically scanned it with my armor. Sure enough, I made a new discovery."
Tony adjusted the holographic screen in front of him, magnifying a gap in the screen. The gap was in shadow, but a black object could still be vaguely seen in the shadow, which looked like a dart.
"You acted quickly, you found out so fast?"
The Holy Lord thought this, but still looked puzzled and said, "What is this? It looks like a ninja shuriken."
Steve didn't understand why Tony would release this thing.
Tony led the two into an empty alley and said in a deep voice, "There might really be a mole within S.H.I.E.L.D."
