If a case interests you, then join in the fun; if not, then just skip it!
That said, Su thought the Wen brothers probably wouldn't want to act with her, right?
Stealing the limelight is nothing; the main thing is that I know the plot. They spent a lot of time investigating, while I went straight to the target and solved the problem. Anyone would be frustrated in that situation.
Well, this is a good deal. We can't just let the Wen brothers' hard work in investigating go to waste.
While thinking about it, Su had already booked two rooms at a motel in the small town.
He had one room, and the Wen brothers had another.
After sending the address and information to the Wen brothers via text message, Su recalled the situation in this small town.
This time it's still related to Lucifer's seal!
The seal will be broken if a Grim Reaper is hunted down at a specific time.
If I remember correctly, the one in charge of this matter is the White-Eyed Demon Alastair. Perfect, let's take this opportunity to settle our past grievances.
……
P.S.: I'm about to break down. I don't know what's wrong with me; I feel like I'm about to die.
Chapter 342 Has Death Been Kidnapped?
Half an hour later, Dean arrived.
“We’ve asked around, and Jenkins shouldn’t have made any deals with the Crossroads Demon,” Dean said before Su could ask. “Sam went to see that cancer patient to check on his situation.”
Madam Su hummed in agreement: "Why did you come back first?"
“I came back to check if there are any clues that match up. Uh… I actually wanted to ask you, you should know what’s going on here, right?” Dean said directly.
Mr. Su shrugged noncommittally.
Dean gave him an "I knew it" look: "Tell me, what's the situation in this town?"
Su asked with a mischievous grin, "Aren't you afraid of spoilers?"
What spoilers?
Dean was taken aback and didn't react for a moment, then said, "Even if we get spoiled, it's better than you gloating over us doing nothing. Tell me, what's going on with this town?"
"Let's wait for Sam to come back; he'll be back soon."
Su used Kagura's Mind's Eye to sense the situation and indeed detected that Sam was heading towards the hotel. At his current speed, he would arrive in about ten minutes.
Not long after, there was a knock on the door. Dean opened it, and sure enough, it was Sam who had returned.
"Did you find anything?" Dean asked.
Sam said, "That cancer survivor, who was clinically diagnosed as dead, had his life support removed by his wife, and now he's celebrating his 20th wedding anniversary with her."
"Is there any evidence of any transactions?"
"No."
Sam shook his head: "How are you? Did you find anything?"
Dean nodded. He had actually done some research before coming to the hotel: "Cole Griffins, no one has died since he died. He passed away 10 days ago and was the last person to die in this town."
Sam looked at Sue.
"What are you looking at me doing?"
"You must know something, right?" Sam asked matter-of-factly.
Su shrugged. No wonder they're brothers; they think alike. It seems they've gotten used to him knowing everything.
Didn't we agree to go easy on each other this time?
Well, actually it's kind of like slacking off, since Dean has already found out about Cole Griffin.
"If I hadn't come with you, what would you have planned to do next?" Su asked.
Dean thought for a moment and said, "There's no trade involved, and no religious factor involved. Some souls can't see the light again, perhaps because there's no suitable vessel nearby."
“Death, they did it, right? The Grim Reaper is responsible for guiding wandering ghosts. If Death isn’t in town, no one will die,” Sam guessed.
"So, the Grim Reaper in the real body went on strike?"
“Let’s talk to someone who might know the inside story, that kid, Col Griffins!”
The Wen brothers quickly came up with a solution by talking to each other: summoning spirits!
Summon the ghost of Col Griffins and ask him if he knows anything!
After all, he was the last person to truly die.
"So, what suggestions do you have?" Dean asked, looking at Su.
Su said, "The Grim Reaper here has indeed disappeared; to be precise, he has been kidnapped."
"Death has been kidnapped? Who? A demon?"
Su nodded: "A demon I have some grudges against, a demon I've always wanted to get rid of. You know this demon too."
"I know him too?" Dean paused for a moment, his expression suddenly stiffening and turning unpleasant. "Alastair?"
Su nodded. "Under the new night, the Grim Reaper will devour you. The first taste is sweet and delicious, but it gradually becomes bitter after swallowing. This is a little-known fact. If you kill a Grim Reaper on the night of the winter solstice, which is tomorrow night, you will break a seal!"
"The Seal of Lucifer!"
The Wen brothers looked at each other, bewildered: "How can we kidnap Death? Death doesn't disappear."
Su shrugged: "Perhaps the demons have a way, and apart from the Death Knight, the leader of the Grim Reapers, most of the Grim Reapers are not as powerful as you imagine."
Sue remembered that Dean seemed to know a female Death God named Tessa in the TV series. It was at the beginning of the second season when Dean was almost killed by the Yellow-Eyed Demon. Later, Dean's father, John, traded his life and a Colt gun with the Yellow-Eyed Demon to save Dean.
Dean was in a spirit state at that time, which is how he met the goddess of death, Tessa.
Now—the plot has been affected by his own actions, and he doesn't know if Dean still recognizes Tessa; he probably won't have that chance anymore.
“Okay, even if the demons have kidnapped Death, we don’t know where they’re hiding, and the living can’t see Death,” Sam said.
"You can do that, right?" Dean looked at Sue. "I remember you can even have an out-of-body experience."
Su said with a smile, "I can indeed separate my soul from my body, but you can't! Don't expect me to help. Although I want to kill Alastair, it doesn't matter if it's sooner or later. I can make my move after he breaks the seal."
"Ok."
The Wen brothers exchanged a glance; they had nothing to say about the Su family's force field.
To be honest, they had considered simply releasing Lucifer, since the Su family definitely wanted to release him, and there were angels in Heaven who hoped Lucifer could be freed.
However, despite their thoughts, they will still try their best to stop it based on their stance and status. If they really can't stop it, then there's nothing they can do.
“I’ve got an idea: become a ghost!” Dean said.
Sam looked at Dean in surprise, finding it somewhat absurd: "Become a ghost? And then what? We can come back to life? No, if we die, won't Heaven resurrect us?"
Although Sam had no recollection of his resurrection, Sue had told him about it, and the Guardians of Immortality testified that it couldn't be false.
Therefore, I am certainly not afraid of death.
What they fear is that the angels will resurrect them after they die, and then all their efforts will have been in vain.
Hmm, if someone is resurrected but remembers nothing, will they continue to seek death? If they keep going like this, will the angel break down? If the angel breaks down and reappears, they should be able to deal with the demons, right?
The thought flashed through Sam's mind, but he ultimately gave up on it. The reason was simple: he didn't really believe in angels, even though he used to worship them more than Dean did.
“Pamela!” Dean suddenly said a name.
Pamela is a medium and their friend, a middle-aged woman.
In the original storyline, after Dean was resurrected, he sought Pamela's help to find out who had brought him back to life. However, because the true face of an angel cannot be looked at directly, Pamela's eyes were burned out.
Afterwards, Palame also helped the fallen angel Anna regain her angel memories through hypnosis.
Of course, because of Su Shi, she was not involved in any of this, so her eyes are still fine.
……
P.S.: I don't know what to say anymore. I'll rest for a few days and see how it goes. If it doesn't improve, I'll have to go to the hospital. I've always been terrified of hospitals; I'm a bit reluctant to see a doctor. Updates will be very infrequent for the next few days!
Chapter 343 Tessa, the Goddess of Death
"Bang bang bang-"
There was a knock on the door.
Sam glanced at Sue, got up and opened the door, saying, "It should be Dean and Pamela."
Not long ago, Dean suggested that Pamela help them with an 'out-of-body experience,' and then drove off to pick them up.
When the door opened, Dean was standing outside with a very stylish middle-aged woman.
Wearing skinny jeans and a black leather jacket, Pamela said as she entered, "I don't know what to say about you two lunatics."
“Uh, Pamela, you are our lifeline, our light in the darkness,” Sam said conciliatoryly.
Pamela smirked: "How thoughtful of you! What was it that made you come up with this out-of-body experience? Let me make this clear—you want your soul to leave your body and then wander around aimlessly in that soul state. Do you know how crazy that is?"
“Maybe, but we have to find Death, so…” Dean looked at Pamela seriously, “We need you!”
Pamela sighed silently, turned to look at Su Shi, and smiled sweetly: "Hi, handsome young man, nice to meet you. You're much more handsome than I remembered!"
Ms. Su chuckled: "I think so too."
Pamela was taken aback, then said to the Wen brothers, "I like him. He's much more interesting than either of you."
After saying that, Pamela stretched out her hand and said, "I am Pamela."
"The Su family."
After shaking hands, Su raised an eyebrow and chuckled.
She actually hooked my finger with hers?
Okay, we don't need to take this seriously or overthink it. That's just how Pamela is, I think. She's very funny and loves to joke around with young people. She's also taken advantage of the Wen brothers quite a bit.
