Once he realized what was happening, Du Jue was overjoyed and ran off with even more confidence. Nothing could stop his violence!
After speeding and crashing through three blocks, Du Jue finally arrived at the foot of the Cathedral of My My My My, where there were no buildings or people, obviously to avoid any taboos.
The crude reinforced concrete pillars stood fiercely in the center of the open space, and the sixteen thick pillars firmly supported the pure black cathedral in the air. A large amount of steel intertwined between the pillars to form a dense forest, which shocked Du Jue.
"What kind of pigment is this? It's so black!!"
The church's exterior could only be roughly seen by sunlight; its conical shape was riddled with all sorts of unsettling holes, and its irregularly shaped surface lacked any trace of religious sanctity.
Compared to a pilgrimage site, Du Jue vaguely felt that it was more like an anthill pushed from the ground into the air. These thoughts were quickly interrupted by a large number of werewolves crawling down from the sixteen pillars.
Du Jue immediately huddled up against the wall to hide. The unique structure made it impossible for a single person to enter the church. There wasn't even an elevator in the place, so how could believers get up?
You can't expect to become a wild beast to be qualified to climb up and meet the Pope.
"put an end to."
Du Jue, gripping the violent brass knuckles, turned around to throw his right fist, but surprisingly stopped his slightly reckless move, simply because the person who came was Elena!
"Why are you here?!"
"I...I want to look at you."
What kind of monster is this, watching women like that?!
A chill ran down his spine, but then he remembered that Elena seemed to have a taste for this since she was at the prosthetic clinic, so he quickly suppressed his panic and pressed her for an answer.
A mysterious blood demon cat kept following him. No one could defend against that; no one could be on guard 24/7, and Du Jue wasn't made of iron.
"Then what did you see?"
"It's you."
Elena was completely unaware of Du Jue's unusual behavior. She took a cat-like leap onto Du Jue's shoulder and affectionately nuzzled against the exposed veins on his neck.
"I have important business to attend to, I don't have time to play around with you here!"
With his left hand gripping the boning knife handle, Du Jue couldn't help but speak out in a fit of anger, when he heard a loud bang coming from inside the cathedral.
Could it be an assassination attempt by the Period Detective Agency?
Du Jue leaned out and discovered that the werewolves swaying between the pillars were all climbing up in a line, crawling into the various holes on the exterior of the cathedral, and their roars instantly filled the air.
"Good opportunity! Elena, you stay here for now, we'll talk about bloodsucking tonight!"
"and many more."
Turning his head, Du glared impatiently at Elena. If this blood demon continued to be annoying, he would really take action.
Do you want to go up?
"nonsense!"
The next moment, Du Jue felt a cold shadow envelop him, and his collar was grabbed, lifting him into the air.
Upon closer inspection, Du Jue was astonished to find that Elena had transformed into a gigantic, blood-red reptile in broad daylight, precisely carrying him in her arms and her blood-red, crystalline eyes fixed on him.
His overly clear eyes even made Du Jue see his own reflection, which then invigorated him.
Before Du Jue could even speak, Elena swallowed him whole. The strong smell of blood surrounded Du Jue from all sides, and he could only grit his teeth and endure it.
He struggled to maintain his balance to avoid the dizziness that followed. The intense shaking and tumbling made him feel like he was going to vomit. It was even more unbearable than Olga's drinking session.
A vast expanse of white light was displayed.
Du Jue, who had just vomited, leaned against the dark corner of the church wall and began to dry heave. Elena, behind him, swayed her black cat tail as if she were laughing, but she put on a cat face after Du Jue stood up with a pale face.
53 Announcement
"Roar!"
Two werewolves, running on all fours along the church's slope, swiftly attacked Du Jue. They showed no intention of asking questions or communicating, their sharp, drooling mouths tearing at the wind.
"Thanks, Elena."
"Don't mention it. You can do whatever you want. I'll stop them for you."
"Then be careful."
Knowing that something was definitely wrong at the church, Du Jue didn't dare to delay and quickly plunged into the dark hole.
This series of sprints and battles in the city had left Du Jue breathless, and he could only jog at this point, as it was too dark to move around quickly.
A bright white light appeared in front of him. The difference in light between the inside and outside of the hole was so great that Du Jue could only see a white blur. He then crouched down and slowly approached.
"This is?!"
We should not have imagined that the headquarters of a cult would be as rugged and unrestrained as the outside world, or even a scene of carnage. Who knew that what we saw was actually a series of double-sided mirrors.
The dense array of mirrors, combined with the light green floor and ceiling, makes you feel as if you've entered a green ocean, with endless greenery no matter where you look.
Bang!
As Du Jue carefully crawled out of the hole, he immediately heard gunshots ringing out from his right and groped his way to get there.
However, these exquisite mirrors were all carefully designed into a maze, reflecting each other so that if you bump your nose into one, you'll feel a sharp pain, and if you're even slightly disoriented, you'll bump your head against the wall.
"This is really flashy. Do cults spend their money on things like this?"
Raising his knuckle duster, Du Jue punched a path of fragments through the surrounding reflections, and immediately spotted a figure flashing past.
A moment later, he came face to face with a short woman carrying a huge gun. When she saw Du Jue, a look of doubt flashed in her eyes. She then put down the gun and grabbed the long knife at her waist.
"Don't shoot. I'm not a member of this cult. Don't waste your time with me."
Yu Shu flicked her white ponytail and carefully examined Du Jue.
"Hmph, the association's intelligence didn't mention any gang warfare. You'd better back off."
Avoid immediately glancing at the other person while they are whispering into a communicator hanging in their ear.
The Endpoint Agency is a professional assassination agency that uses firearms. Its representative is Li Wei, a fourth-tier finisher, who is quite powerful.
"I won't disturb your work. Would you mind telling me where my leader is? I can even cover your retreat."
Several werewolves suddenly emerged from the corner. They were very familiar with the mirrored terrain and moved with wide, sweeping movements, yet none of them bumped into the mirror.
The Yushu police, vigilant and determined to prevent any mishaps, left a message only when they were close to the hole.
"If you climb to a higher hole, you'll be able to see where that guy is. You'd better hurry if you want to find him, he might have already escaped."
Yu Shu anxiously ran while clutching his gun. He looked back and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Du Jue was not chasing after him. At this moment, Li Wei asked in confusion through his earpiece.
"It's nothing. I just ran into a lunatic who happened to help me stop those stinky wild beasts. They'll probably be minced meat in a bit."
"Evacuate according to the original route. Are you sure you've completed the mission?"
"He was shot in the head, his brains are all out, but he'll be fine."
"Well done."
Swish!
The wolf-haired arm was cleanly severed at the root by the boning knife. Du Jue swung his fist, which was gripping the knuckle duster, like a hammer. The other werewolf who pounced on him immediately had his head explode like a watermelon.
The terrifying aura suddenly intensified, and the one-armed werewolf, along with the remaining two, abruptly lowered its body and stopped attacking before fleeing in panic.
"They really are like dogs, bullying the weak and fearing the strong."
The violent brass knuckle duster was surprisingly effective; at least it could scare away these fanatical followers of the "tatatata" (a derogatory term for a type of religious cult).
Patting his aching thighs, Du Jue took a deep breath to regain some strength, and followed the newly opened gap to find a fierce battle between the finisher and the werewolf.
Du Jue quickly hid behind the mirror, and after observing for a while, he realized that they must have also been involved in the commission, but now they could not escape.
"The association and the company are both shady. Aren't they just sending weaker firms to their deaths as a last resort?"
All my hard work has become a stepping stone.
Du Jue, who was cursing under his breath, suddenly noticed something was wrong and realized that a lot of gray lines were coming out of his cuffs.
Congratulations on your promotion at the molar clinic!
[Obtain a work item: Workshop Wire Bundle]
[Description: What binds weapons is not the strings, but the human heart]
[Effect: This binding thread can bind workshop weapons according to your will]
Du Jue's heart skipped a beat, and the thin thread emerging from the hem of his clothes immediately rolled up the surrounding mirror shards and made them float in the air. This force was probably at the level of a normal person.
This should be the seventh-level finishing agent certificate from the molar treatment center. Olga probably accepted it on his behalf. He was not even there, yet he still got a promotion.
call out!
Startled by the commotion, Du Jue rolled over to avoid the smashing mirror, and looked up to see a menacing tiger-man with the hair on his forehead arranged in the shape of the Chinese character "王" (king).
"Oh no, it's you, you, you priest! Didn't the association say they were distracting the other priests? Why is there another one here?!"
"Don't be nervous, these are about to transform and can't hold on any longer. Retreat in an orderly manner."
Du Fei cautiously observed the situation and immediately realized that the arrival of Father Tiger had torn apart the defenses of the finishers, and screams immediately filled the air.
Moreover, judging from what they said, the cult leader probably doesn't have any powerful figures protecting him anymore.
"You bastard, you think you can run away by yourself?!"
"I don't think I've seen this kid before when we met up last time."
Immediately, the finishers noticed Du Jue trying to sneak away on the edge and glared at him angrily. After such a dangerous situation, he still wanted to slip away alone; no one could allow that.
Seeing the priest glaring menacingly at him, Du Jue knew he couldn't get away with it so easily; the other man had even pulled out that familiar silver hammer.
"You actually came to sabotage my great cause just because of those man-made troubles."
"The city is indeed terrified of this disgusting relationship being destroyed. I will never allow you to destroy this light of freedom."
“Even though I am just an incompletely enlightened person, I am willing to dedicate myself to this cause.”
To Du Jue's surprise, the tiger-man was still rational and communicated with him, and was not a priest. He then watched in astonishment and doubt as the other party tapped his chest with a small silver hammer.
This doesn't look like a good thing.
"Hey, calm down. Don't you think the connection between you and me, our cult beliefs, should be severed first?"
"You selfish people can only see this much. I have already declared this to all of you."
“Once the light of freedom is lit, my church will no longer need to exist, and we will all sever ties with each other, only then can we usher in a pure world.”
"The new world requires nothing but eating, and there are no other worries."
"I no longer need to miss my wife and daughter who were brutally murdered, nor do I need to feel regret or guilt for all the cycles of relationships created by this damned city."
As soon as he finished speaking, the tiger-man's entire body suddenly swelled up, and in the blink of an eye, he became a terrifying and deformed giant beast. Only from the outline could one still tell that it was based on a tiger.
Wow!
All the werewolves fled the place in a frenzy, leaving only the tailmen stunned in fear for a moment.
54 Light of Freedom
"no no no!"
No matter how much the finisher begged for mercy, even as he desperately swung his sword and hacked the tiger's arm to pieces, he couldn't stop the terrifying pressure from crushing his chest and lungs.
The rest of the group, finally realizing what was happening, immediately fled while no cult members were blocking their way. Only two people stayed behind to try and rescue their companion, along with Du Jue, who was nearby answering a phone call.
"Du Jue, what are you doing? You actually risked your life for the gang!"
"I've already asked Park Hye, you better get back here right now!"
The mechanical voice sounded very excited, and you could faintly hear the sound of a car engine on the other end of the phone.
"I have my own plans. You stay here by yourself."
Before Du could even object, he immediately hung up the communicator, gritted his teeth, and tried to bypass the monster while staring at the screaming finisher.
Tear!
The screams on the left immediately made Du Jue stop in his tracks. He saw that the fleeing men had been bitten in the waist by werewolves that sprang out from the pile of mirrors beside them before they could even step into the hole.
Compared to claws, the bite force of these werewolf cultists is extremely astonishing. Du Jue felt a phantom pain in his own waist as he watched as most of the man's waist was torn off.
