Chapter 872 Red Hulk 1 Unmoved
Chapter 872 Red Hulk Remains Motionless
General Thaddeus Ross, with the help of the leader, has transformed himself into "Red Hulk".
O
A large, red man who looks almost identical to the Hulk except for his color. But in General Ross's eyes, Red Hulk is superior and more outstanding: Red Hulk has no intellectual disabilities (in fact, the Hulk doesn't either), he's not as crazy or irritable, he can skillfully give and obey orders, and he can use various specially made heavy weapons.
This is much better than that lousy Hulk.
Of course, Red Hulk does have some flaws that aren't really flaws. For example, Red Hulk doesn't increase his power as his anger increases; instead, he raises his body temperature to a level high enough to melt metal.
However, compared to the Hulk's side effects, General Ross felt it was acceptable.
However, General Ross's current focus wasn't on the Hulk, but on another monster: a superhuman who had suddenly stormed into Cheyenne Mountain military base, and a verified Avenger at that. But this golden-haired guy, who looked like a bootleg Superman, was someone he had never seen before.
This made General Ross wonder: Did the Avengers have hidden forces? How many Avengers like the Sentinel before him were there? Had the Avengers secretly trained hundreds of superhumans, keeping them hidden unless in an emergency?
Otherwise, how do you explain the sudden appearance of a Sentinel? Did some Avenger pick him up?!
But with a formidable enemy at hand, even Ross dared not say anything more, and could only nod and silently watch the man. Bob, on the other hand, stared at the red Hulk in bewilderment for a long while without uttering a word.
"Uh, Commander Ross—"
"You are not my soldier, Avenger. Don't call me 'sir.' Call me 'general.' I am a lieutenant general."
Bob nodded quickly, then asked, "Um, General Ross, it's safe here now. Would you like to go out and help?"
Ross sneered, "You think it's safe just because you say so? This is Cheyenne Mountain! The president is here, and I'm responsible for his safety!"
"Oh, about that, I think everything should be fine. I've destroyed all the nanobots around here."
Ross retorted dismissively, "How can you be so sure?"
"I can see it."
Ross paused for a moment, then turned to look at the sentry, scrutinizing him with disbelief and uncertainty.
"Oh, and also, I've taken care of all those huge pillars outside. You're welcome."
But the Sentinel had no intention of continuing the conversation with this guy. If he didn't leave soon, the Void would catch up, so he turned around and flew away.
After watching the sentries outside and Red Hulk talk for ages, President Eris finally spoke through the safe: "General Ross, is everything alright?"
"All is well, Your Excellency, your security is secure. Furthermore, if what that unknown avenger said is true, then now that we have the internet and other means back in our hands, I think it is necessary for you to give a televised address to the nation."
President Ellis readily agreed, as he knew this very well, more than he knew.
However, he still had questions for General Ross.
"General, I know you've been conducting gamma-ray related experiments at CubeSats," President Ellis glanced at General Ross, "but I don't recall approving any human experimentation projects."
Strictly speaking, since the Bronsky incident, the Gamma Super Soldier project has theoretically ended completely. The Cube Labs was only used to detain dangerous criminals and provide retirement for General Ross.
President Ellis was never worried about General Ross causing trouble, for a simple reason: Ross had no money. All the funds for the Cube prison were strictly monitored. Surely Ross couldn't possibly manufacture super soldiers without funds?
Ross's answer was "yes." He believed that as long as there were a few criminals who could keep causing trouble and were willing to keep causing trouble, plus the leader's super brain, the problem could be solved.
"Yes, so we didn't have any experimental materials; all we had was myself."
General Ross spoke in a low voice, feigning helplessness: "Mr. President, the Avengers will not protect America, nor are they willing to. In some cases, they might even become enemies of America. Like that Sentinel just now, the US government has no idea, nobody knows how many more monsters they have, and in order to protect America from the Avengers, America must have its own monsters."
"I willingly become a monster in this country."
President Ellis watched General Ross's impassioned speech. He was initially shocked but could not believe it: if the Avengers were a threat to the United States because they were hiding their combat power, then how could a Pentagon lieutenant general bypass Congress and the president to turn himself into another Hulk?
Who do you think you are?
President Ellis glanced at General Ross with suspicion and shook his head: "Let's talk about this later. The Avengers are our allies, at least for now, even if it's only temporary. But I'll discuss it with Carol Danvers. I believe joining the Ultimate Team won't be a bad thing."
"Okay, I will continue to protect your safety."
"I think your absence is the best way to protect my safety," President Ellis muttered, shaking his head before preparing for his televised address.
"Okay, okay, I understand."
Peter, while talking to the captain, led his men to Times Square, where they witnessed a very abstract scene:
Vision took over Ultron's role, or rather, stole his account, and is here to preach and appease the crowd. He stands beside Ultron, controlling it to preach.
It took him more than half an hour to persuade the group of believers to go home.
Peter rushed over, somewhat confused, and asked, "What's wrong with you—"
"War is easy to end, but what's harder is winning people's hearts and minds. We might be able to defeat Ultron, but what happens after we defeat him? What will happen to these people? There has to be a solution."
Vision smiled and put away the Bible, then solemnly addressed the most troublesome matter: "We may not be able to destroy Ultron. Ultron has already entered the future through Kang's technology. Do you remember what happened during the Kang Dynasty?"
Peter looked at Vision in surprise: "You know?"
"Dr. Pym created another Ultron prototype using his own brainwaves and a neural transmission device in order to bring me into existence. It contains related memories."
Peter then understood what Vision was trying to say: "You mean the one Kang found, the Age of Ultron in 2015."
