Chapter 732 The Birth of the Demon Child
Borderlands.
The situation at Limbo remains unchanged. Changing owners does not mean it has become better or worse. Iliana herself does not like Limbo at all. Staying at Limbo for too long makes her irritable and depressed.
Aside from teleportation and the occasional necessity of practicing magic, Iliana almost never returns.
But now, they're back, hoping to face off against Velasco once again.
"I didn't expect that you wouldn't even change Velasco's palace, let alone other places. Oh, you did change it, now there's a bar."
Strange shook his head. Putting aside Iliana's underage drinking, the Velasco-style decor was simply unappealing, and Iliana didn't seem to care at all, as if this place had nothing to do with her.
"Stop talking nonsense, Strange. We're here to solve problems, not to listen to your complaints about the decor."
Iliana muttered to herself, sitting on the throne that once belonged to Velasco, and asked, resting her chin on her hand, "What do I do? Do I use astral projection and see if another version of myself pops up and fights me?"
"No, you're not like Bruce Banner, who has different personalities for one reason or another. Your problem is that if you spend too much time on Earth, your soul will become unbalanced because your soul is stitched together; half of your soul belongs to the frontier of Hell. This means that the longer you spend on Earth, or the more white magic you use, the more unstable you become."
Conversely, if Iliana spends too much time on the edge of hell or uses too much dark magic, her human half of her soul will feel uncomfortable. This situation is actually more troublesome because the power of the edge of hell is much stronger than a person's soul.
"So, once we begin your 'treatment process,' you will have an overwhelming, uncontrollable aggression, and a massive influx of Hell's Frontier power will pour into you." Strange began explaining what would happen next: "You'll probably cause quite a ruckus, but don't worry, I've brought in the best experts to fight you."
Iliana raised an eyebrow: "Can't we do this on Earth?"
"The influx of massive amounts of energy from the Hell Frontier into our world could cause rifts in reality, and it's not as convenient as here. Alright, let's get ready and begin."
As Strange spoke, he began to retreat, holding the Dark Book in his hands and muttering something. A large amount of the power of the Hell Frontier was mobilized. Then, Iliana drew her Soul Greatsword, planted it to the side, and began to cast a spell, quickly unlocking her demon form.
Wanda was still unsure what to do when Elsa had already picked up her shotgun and aimed it at Iliana in her demon form. As the surrounding winds raged and flames erupted, the stench of sulfur filled the air, and everything seemed incredibly eerie. Wanda looked around with some disgust, then subconsciously raised her hand to channel energy, and a crimson hexagonal shield blocked the flames that the demonized Iliana had casually summoned.
"She opened fire without even giving a warning?"
Elsa then fired directly at Iliana, before rolling away to dodge a fireball: "Just like the mage said, she needs a certain amount of time to unleash it, and I guess it won't be an easy process."
"It is His Holiness the Venerable Master, madam, thank you."
As Strange spoke, he took to the air, casting a spell to summon a shield that blocked the infernal fire that accompanied Iliana's demonic transformation. After watching Iliana plunge the Soul Sword into the ground, he added, "Be careful. That sword used to pierce through matter and damage souls, but now it's indestructible. Angarum's Axe!"
Strange summoned an ancient giant axe into his hand, but the demon Iliana smiled, then placed her hands on the hilt of the sword and pressed down hard. The next moment, the entire Velasco fortress emitted a dazzling light, and the small bar along with it was completely blown to smithereens.
A coughing sound came from within the smoke and dust. Wanda waved her hand, shook her head as she looked at her raised magical shield, and was about to use the wind to drive away the dust when suddenly a flash of light appeared in the smoke and dust. Then, the demonized Iliana gripped the Soul Greatsword with both hands and slashed it hard at her shield, cracking it.
"To be honest... I didn't expect you to blow up your own house... even though it was a pretty ugly house."
As Wanda spoke, she channeled her magic, attempting to move Iliana away. However, the magical energy that had previously easily restrained Supersonic Quicksilver was now completely unable to lift Iliana even an inch. Iliana was still relentlessly slashing at Wanda's shield with her Soul Sword. While gritting her teeth and persevering, Wanda began to think about how to drive Iliana away without harming her as much as possible.
But the others didn't have this concern. As the dust suddenly dissipated, Strange, wielding a giant axe and shimmering with golden light, rushed between the two. Gritting his teeth, he swung the axe at Iliana, who turned to parry with her sword. Then, both of them were sent flying backward, the immense force dispersing all the dust.
Wanda looked around. All around were broken bricks and tiles. Velasco’s carefully designed fortress had been destroyed by Magik’s demonized sword. Strange, who floated back, looked unharmed, but the golden light on his body had dissipated.
"The borderlands have enhanced her power, while I am the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth. This is not Earth, so it's a draw."
Wanda looked at Strange. "Who are you explaining this to? Me?"
It was at this moment that Bloodstone Elsa crawled out of the ruins. Enhanced by the "Bloodstone," she possessed superhuman strength and endurance. The collapse of a mere castle was not enough to kill her.
"You deserve extra money for living, really. I've been fighting monsters for so many years, and I've never encountered a girl as troublesome as this one. Even dragons aren't as difficult to deal with as her."
Wanda looked at Elsa with considerable surprise: "You've even fought dragons?"
Before Elsa could answer, a suppressed and terrifying laugh spread around them. Then, a demonic version of Iliana, who seemed to have grown even larger, threw off the boulder, stood up, shouldered her greatsword, and stared intently at them.
