Chapter 231 The First Event of the Triwizard Tournament Begins
"I don't care at all whether your eyes are pretty or not." Draco didn't say the last part, "I only care whether you can see with that eye." He just kept staring at me.
"Don't look at me like that, I'm fine. I only made a choice to protect myself. It was my own choice, wasn't it?" I saw a hint of pity in Draco's eyes. It was just my own choice to protect myself. It wasn't worth Draco's pity, was it?
I also raised my hand to stroke Draco's cheek, and then couldn't resist lifting his chin and giving him a light kiss before pulling away from his lips.
"Let's go, we should get some lunch." I suggested leaving first, and Draco knew we were leaving; we couldn't let this go on indefinitely.
Finally, Draco and I walked into the Great Hall at the same time, and then we each went to sit in our own small groups.
"You've finished talking to your junior." Fred leaned over as soon as I sat down and whispered in my ear with a grin.
"What? You want to experience my private chat time too?" I said with a smile in Fred's ear.
“Why not? We can all go and have a private chat.” George, who was on my other side, could hear Fred and I whispering to each other.
"You two have quite the dream," I said jokingly, looking at the twins.
"What are you talking about privately? Can I listen?" Cedric, knowing the three of us were joking, said in a joking tone as well.
"Those two want to schedule a private chat with me. What? Cedric wants to get involved too?" I joked with Cedric.
“It’s not impossible, I’ll join too.” Cedric wouldn’t mind such a thing; he knew we were just joking around.
"Then let's have a good private chat when we have the chance," I said with a smile. I wouldn't mind the four of us chatting together.
"Haha~" They all laughed.
"Senior Ayers, what are you laughing at?" The trio of Harry, who were sitting a little further away, were confused and had no idea what the four of us were laughing at.
"Nothing much, Harry, how's your preparation going?" After joking with Fred, George, and Cedric, I smiled and looked at Harry, asking.
“I’ve already prepared everything according to the little hint you gave me. Now we just have to see what happens.” Harry had already planned to have Ron wait for him at the arena with his Nimbus 2000. He felt that his strength was that he could fly fast, and he would be much safer with a broom.
"Harry, you'd better keep that necklace I gave you close to your body. It's your last line of defense. Don't let the mother dragon see it, or you'll be in danger." The danger I'm referring to might be caused by the dragon scale I gave Harry.
Generally, female dragons that protect their eggs are very wary of male dragons getting close to them. If the dragon scale given to Harry were discovered, I feel like Harry would be in big trouble. But the dragon scale was given to Harry to protect him, so this is the only way I can tell him.
"Okay, I got it." Harry usually remembers what I say.
"So, Ayers, are you ready?" Fred asked, while putting the food he didn't like into my plate.
"Not bad, I guess I'm all set." I've already considered unleashing another bloodline fusion later, so what more can I ask for? This is more than enough, isn't it?
"Ayers, what are you saying? Are you ready or not?" George was completely confused by what I said.
"Ready?" I said casually.
"That's good. Be careful then." Cedric thought I was ready after hearing that, and all they had to do was watch my match.
The day of the competition finally arrived, and a tense atmosphere permeated the area around the venue, with the audience's eyes fixed on the center of the field.
First to appear was Fleur Delacour, who gracefully walked onto the stage.
Her opponent was a majestic Welsh green dragon, its green scales shimmering with a cold light in the sunlight.
Hibiscus took a deep breath and began to cast a spell, attempting to bewitch the dragon.
As she waved her wand, brilliant light shot towards the dragon, but the dragon only shook its head briefly before roaring angrily, flames spewing from its mouth.
Furong skillfully dodged the dragon's attacks, and finally, taking advantage of a brief pause in the dragon's movements, she rushed towards the dragon egg, successfully retrieved it, and quickly retreated, winning rounds of applause from the audience.
Next was Victor Krum. He faced a ferocious Chinese fireball dragon, a giant dragon whose entire body was fiery red, like a burning Flaming Mountain.
Krum looked serious, gripping his wand tightly.
He unleashed a powerful binding spell, and beams of light coiled around the dragon.
The dragon struggled fiercely, and the gale-force winds whipped up by its wings nearly knocked Krum over.
But Krum steadied himself, seized the opportunity, and rushed towards the dragon egg. Before the dragon could attack again, he caught the egg in his arms and successfully completed the challenge.
Harry's turn was now, and his opponent was the Hungarian Horned Beetle, one of the most dangerous dragons, with a massive body and sharp claws that inspired fear.
Harry's heart pounded, and his mind raced.
He had already told Ron to prepare his broom nearby, so he raised his wand and shouted, "Broom Summon Charm!"
As his broom flew into his hand, he rode it through the air, observing the Hungarian wood bees protecting the golden egg on the ground.
Sensing the threat, the dragon breathed scorching flames at Harry. Harry skillfully maneuvered his broom to dodge, narrowly avoiding having his robes set ablaze.
Through repeated attempts, Harry gradually figured out the dragon's attack patterns.
Taking advantage of the moment the dragon turned around, he rushed towards the location of the dragon egg.
The dragon noticed Harry approaching, turned sharply, and slammed its massive claws down.
Harry narrowly avoided the attack, then focused his mind and cast the spell again, finally managing to get the dragon egg into his hands before quickly running away from the area.
Harry's outstanding performance earned him everyone's applause.
Finally, I was the last one to appear, and I drew the Swedish short-nosed dragon.
The first thing I did after stepping out was to assess my opponent.
It is 22 feet long, but don't be fooled by its size. This guy is known for his agility and blazing flames. The fire he spews is so hot that it can burn blue flames.
I don't plan to fight for too long; I'll just merge with the bloodline of the elves.
Her long silver hair was tied up high behind her, each strand looking as if it were woven from the purest silver threads, delicate and smooth.
The pointed ears, slightly upturned, revealed their elven lineage.
Her face was delicate and beautiful, and her skin was as white as alabaster.
His light green eyes, full of vitality, had deep, bright pupils, like stars twinkling in the night sky.
Its eyes were fixed on the Swedish short-nosed dragon in front of it, with a gentle, all-encompassing quality, yet also exuding a mysterious aura, as if it could see through everything.
This time, he was no longer wearing a green robe, but a suit of armor embroidered with exquisite patterns. The patterns on the silver-green armor seemed to be a masterpiece of nature, blending perfectly with his body.
The wand I was holding also changed, elongating into a long, blue rose-shaped wand.
All the audience members and judges who watched me transform like this were dumbfounded.
"Headmaster Dumbledore, does your school have a representative with Elven blood?" The first to ask was Madam Maxim. She knew that her school's representative, Fleur Delacour, had one-quarter Veela blood, but she didn't expect that one of Hogwarts' champions would also have other bloodlines.
"This is Mr. Ayers' privacy. As the headmaster, I don't know much about it either." Dumbledore had seen my disguise, but he thought I had the blood of the Phoenix Clan. He didn't know that there was such a thing as an Elf.
As for the principal of Durmstrang School of Magic, he was only slightly surprised and remained silent. After all, as the older brother, he didn't know how many tricks his younger brother still had up his sleeve. He was probably the most composed among them.
But where he wasn't looking, Headmaster Dumbledore's eyes narrowed slightly.
"It's Ayers, the senior student." Ron, who had just been holding the broom for Harry, finally returned and sat down in the audience seat next to Hermione.
"Yes, I never imagined that Senior Ayers was the handsome man who protected Malfoy that day." Hermione looked at my transformation in surprise. What she saw with Draco before was a phantom, but now I was a physical entity.
I didn't care what those people were saying. As the Ministry of Magic began, I immediately cast a 'Grow Bigger' spell on a plant on the ground.
I don't know if it was my good luck, but the plant I enlarged turned out to be a vine.
I smiled and cast a protective 'armor' on myself, then quickly hid on a large, concealed rock. I patted the enlarged plant's tentacles with my left hand, and it seemed to understand my intention, attacking the Swedish short-nosed dragon.
The Swedish short-nosed dragon was not so easily defeated; it breathed fire from its mouth at the attacking plant tentacles.
I also used 'Swift Imprisonment' on the Swedish Short-nosed Dragon the instant it breathed fire.
The Swedish short-nosed dragon thought it was a one-on-one fight, but it didn't expect a sneak attack and was directly hit by my spell.
My magic is quite powerful; the Swedish short-nosed dragon that was hit couldn't break free instantly, and the vines didn't miss the opportunity either, binding the Swedish short-nosed dragon directly.
Although the Swedish Short-nosed Dragon was bound, I wouldn't go out immediately. I used "Tongue Lock Throat Seal" and "Force Release" on the Swedish Short-nosed Dragon again. After I was sure that the Swedish Short-nosed Dragon really had no power to kill me.
Only then did I openly walk into the golden egg nest it protected and pick up a fake golden egg.
In this battle against the dragon, every hero displayed extraordinary courage and wisdom.
We braved flames and dangers, giving our all for honor and victory.
All the audience members gave the loudest applause. The other warriors had experienced this thrilling battle, not only overcoming their inner fears but also showing outstanding performance in the three-way battle.
"This child is far too cautious." Mrs. Maxim watched as I quickly hid the golden egg after obtaining it, and only allowed the enlarged plant to revert to its original state after leaving the attack range of the Swedish short-nosed dragon.
“Yes, this child is not only capable, but also very cautious in his actions.” Dumbledore clapped his hands in praise.
"Yes, indeed." The disguised principal of Durmstrang Magic School also nodded in a perfunctory manner.
"Now, I invite all the headmasters and ministers of magic to score our champions and rank them," said Percy Weasley, a graduate who was to be the commentator for this event, holding the microphone he usually used for Quidditch commentary.
"First up is our first champion, Fleur Delacour. Please rate her out of 10, with 1 being the lowest." As Percy spoke, several headmasters and the Minister of Magic all gave her a score of 8.
"Alright, thank you, Headmasters and Ministers of Magic. Next up is the second hero, Victor Krum. Please give Victor Krum a score, with 10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest." Before Percy could finish speaking, the Headmasters and Ministers of Magic had already taken their score cards, all of them 9 points.
"Alright, thank you, Headmasters and Ministers of Magic. Next up is the third Harry Potter Warrior. Please give Harry Potter Warrior a score, with 10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest." Another round of unanimous 8 points.
"Alright, thank you, Headmasters and Ministers of Magic. Now, for the last one, it's Ayers Hall Grindelwald. Please give Ayers Hall Grindelwald a score, with 10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest." I don't know if the others noticed, but I did hear that Percy's tone was slightly different when he said my name compared to the other heroes. I smiled and looked at Percy, who was standing on the stage giving his explanation.
While the two of us were exchanging pleasantries across the room, several headmasters and the Minister of Magic picked up the plaque that read "perfect score."
All the spectators cheered, and now they could tell who was the winner by looking at the scores given by the headmasters and the Minister of Magic.
"Alright, thank you, Headmasters and Ministers of Magic. Now I will announce the rankings for the first event of the Triwizard Tournament. Third place is tied with Harry Potter, second place is Victor Krum, and first place goes to Ayles Hall Grindelwald of Hogwarts. Please give our heroes a round of applause!" As Percy spoke, everyone in the room applauded and cheered.
The others raised their hands and waved happily when they saw this.
I just calmly waved my hand slightly, thinking to myself, "This competition is so boring!"
