Chapter 280 Confirmation for the Third Time
Chapter 280 Confirmation for the Third Time
Han Che stood by the window of his office, already dressed in the warden's uniform.
He was slowly stuffing a QBZ rifle magazine full of level 4 bullets into his tactical chest rig.
"Shi Ding, what's the situation outside this time? How many solo players have entered?" Han Che asked the captain of the guards standing by the door without turning around, while adjusting the elastic band of his chest armor.
Shi Ding placed the explosive shield at his feet and said in a calm tone, "Your Excellency, this time is the same as before. There are only three or five lone attackers at most. These people are moving very quietly on the perimeter, and they are obviously veterans."
Han Che zipped the zipper all the way up and calmly ordered, "Tell the outer guards to go easy on them and let them loot the scrap metal on the outer perimeter. Then lock all the main entrances to the administrative area from the inside. Don't let these guys sneak in and ruin my fun today."
"Yes, it has been arranged." Shi Ding bowed slightly.
Han Che patted his armor and turned around, saying, "Let's go, let's meet Raven and see what real skills this kid has learned these past two days that have you praising him so highly."
Han Che straightened his collar, picked up the QBZ training rifle from the table, and walked out of the office.
The lobby on the first floor of the administrative area is a relatively spacious area, with giant, slanted concrete pillars standing around it to support the towering dome.
The hall was filled with desks and chairs, which were piled up haphazardly, forming makeshift shelters.
Han Che led Shi Dinggang out of the corridor, and as soon as they went downstairs, they saw Raven, who was already quietly waiting in the center of the hall.
The raven was leaning alone in the shadow of a concrete pillar.
He also changed into a standard level 5 body armor vest and a tactical helmet of the same level, and was also holding a black QBZ rifle in his hand.
To Han Che's surprise, Raven's face no longer had its usual crazy expression; it was quite quiet.
He didn't even notice Han Che's arrival, he just kept his head down without saying a word and gently stroked the rifle.
"Hey, you're here pretty early? What, so eager to go out into the world and become a laborer?" Han Che stopped a dozen meters away from him and joked.
Hearing the noise, Raven slowly raised his head. His gaze swept over Han Che before landing on Shi Ding, who was half a body length behind Han Che.
"You've arrived?" Raven spoke, his voice sounding somewhat deep.
Han Che raised an eyebrow in surprise, adjusted his grip on the gun, and said with a teasing smile, "Hey Raven, you look a bit different today. You're so serious, I almost didn't recognize you."
Raven ignored Han Che's teasing. He simply raised the rifle in his hand and said, "When you're going to do things in the player world, it's not good to act too strangely. It'll be easy for people to notice something's off, and it'll be troublesome if your identity is exposed on the spot, right?"
Han Che really didn't expect that Raven, who was usually crazy and only knew how to snatch snacks, could actually think of this kind of stake in the matter.
"You've thought of everything quite thoroughly. I heard you've been practicing your shooting a lot these past few days?"
"Hmm, I've practiced enough," Raven replied briefly.
He clearly didn't want to waste any more time on pleasantries, so he lowered the gun slightly and went straight to the point, asking, "So, what are your plans for the rules of today's one-on-one duel?"
Seeing Raven's unprecedentedly serious expression, Han Che's smile gradually disappeared completely.
It seems this madman is serious today.
He patted his tactical vest. "The rules are simple: we'll both wear level 5 helmets and level 5 armor, and we can only use this QBZ rifle. We'll both use standard level 4 ammunition. That way, neither of us will have an advantage."
Raven frowned slightly, her eyes fixed on Han Che: "That's all? No other restrictions?"
Han Che thought for a moment. In fact, his thoughts had always been very simple. He was too lazy to design any complicated rules.
His main purpose in setting up this trap was to see firsthand how well Raven could perform with a regular rifle.
Moreover, in Han Che's mind, as long as Raven's performance today wasn't too outrageous and his marksmanship was above average, he would definitely take the kid out as promised.
But at this moment, seeing Raven's serious and vigilant demeanor, Han Che's competitive spirit as the warden of Tide Prison was also vaguely stirred.
"The battle area is in this lobby on the first floor of this administrative district. Let's just have a friendly spar, no need to overcomplicate things," Han Che said, pointing to the surrounding concrete pillars.
Raven stood there silently for a moment, his brow furrowing as if he were pondering something. "Are you sure there aren't any other rules? Just five suits of armor, level 4 ammunition, and QBZs, and we're going to fire them right here in this designated area?"
"Just these few rules? Can I use my own throwing tools during this process?"
"Throwing tools?" Han Che was clearly taken aback for a moment upon hearing this, then couldn't help but chuckle and nodded, saying, "Of course, use them as you see fit."
"However, I must kindly remind you in advance that you know my situation best."
"That yellow smoke grenade works on others, but it's just a pure side effect on me. Don't let me get through the smoke and then accuse me of cheating. Don't shoot yourself in the foot."
Raven nodded and gave a slight smirk. "Alright, then how do we determine a win?"
"Just go all out. I will be resurrected. Don't worry, I will resurrect you even if you die."
Raven chuckled, and at that moment, his expression finally took on a more familiar "raven" quality.
"Fine, you've been the one to revive me all these times."
"Alright! Since it's settled, let's finish this quickly before those random players who came in cause any major trouble outside!" Han Che said loudly.
He then turned his head and looked at Shi Ding, who was standing to the side looking somewhat worried. "Alright, Shi Ding, you go upstairs and wait here. Leave this to us. Just make sure the players don't interfere with us."
Shi Ding glanced deeply at the raven opposite him, then looked back at Han Che and nodded emphatically. "Alright, Warden, be careful."
Han Che waved his hand. "Okay, go ahead."
Shi Ding nodded slightly, picked up his shield, and turned to leave.
