Chapter 276: A Review Full of Loopholes
Chapter 276: A Review Full of Loopholes
Even now, after these five teams respawned from the portal and returned to this conference room, they have not exchanged any battle information with each other.
No one knew exactly what happened, or even how they died, let alone what their teammates in other positions went through.
At this moment, faced with Brother Qiang's thunderous rage, the fifteen people below were all dumbfounded, looking at each other with nothing but confusion and fear in their eyes.
Looking at the conference room in front of him, where even breathing was deliberately suppressed, Qiang Ge's anger intensified.
He ripped off his tie and threw it to the ground, pointing at Squad One sitting on the far left, and roared through gritted teeth, "What's wrong? Have you all gone mute now? Weren't you so capable on the map?!"
"Tell me in order, one squad at a time! Explain exactly how you died in there, down to the last detail! If anyone dares to omit a single detail, don't blame me for turning on you!"
Qiang Ge's roar echoed in the conference room. There was a full half minute of silence before the captain of Squad One, who was sitting at the very edge, stood up, trembling.
His face looked a little pale. He swallowed and mustered his courage to stammer, "Brother Qiang, in the beginning... in the beginning, it should have been our Team One that was attacked first."
"When our team entered the portal, we were randomly teleported to the first refresh location in the East Building."
"We thought the location was quite advantageous. We had just finished checking our equipment and entered the parking lot on the east side of the administration building when I was instantly killed... I don't know what happened after that."
After hearing the report from Captain Number One, the other two members of Team Number One sitting next to him quickly stood up and hurriedly added, "Yes, yes, Brother Qiang, the captain died too quickly back then."
"We only saw a flash of light, and the captain was instantly sniped in the head right in front of that second-floor window. That bullet had incredible penetrating power."
Hearing this, Huang Mao, who was sitting next to Qiang Ge as his second-in-command, couldn't hold back any longer. He slammed his hand on the table and cursed, "Bullshit! We haven't even been in the map for a minute, we haven't even touched the enemy, and they've already killed one of us outside the window!"
"You three are always so boastful on the training field, aren't you? What are you good for?! Are you all pig-brains? Can't you even find cover?!"
The blond-haired man launched into a tirade of insults, spitting everywhere.
He's in this conference room now, basically acting as Qiang Ge's mouth double.
After all, Qiang Ge was the commander-in-chief of this operation and the nominal leader of the alliance. It was inconvenient for him to act like a shrew and curse from beginning to end without any regard for his image. He also needed to maintain his sense of the big picture and his dignified image in front of these low-level thugs.
So naturally, this dirty, tiring, and swear-filled job fell to Huang Mao.
Qiang Ge sat in the main seat, his face as black as if it were about to drip water. He raised his hand somewhat speechlessly, rubbing his throbbing temples, then gestured with his chin in annoyance, signaling for the next team to continue.
Upon seeing this, the three members of Team Two exchanged glances and stood up somewhat nervously.
Seeing the murderous glare in Qiang Ge's eyes, the captain of Team Two swallowed hard and said, "Qiang Ge, you know. Our two teams were together back then."
"I followed your instructions exactly, and led the team to move quietly and stealthily toward one side of the East Building."
Just as we were getting close to the east building, someone suddenly popped out from behind a window in the corridor. That guy didn't just aim normally; he jumped up and fired in mid-air. Before I could even raise my gun, I was dead.
Number Two added to the other person, "I heard the gunshot and was about to fire a follow-up shot, but I had barely peeked out before I could pull the trigger."
"The bullets from the other side were like a deluge; my level 4 armor shattered in less than a second."
Immediately afterwards, the three people from Team Three stood up hesitantly.
The third team leader's expression was equally grim. He looked at Brother Qiang and said with a hint of grievance, "Brother Qiang, this really isn't our fault. We were following plan, sneaking in from another entrance of the east building with the first team to prepare for an encirclement."
"As a result, Er Gouzi and I sneaked into a small room next to the lobby on the first floor, preparing to ambush from behind the door."
"Han Che came out and sniped the people who were still at the door. The bullet hit their chest. Although they didn't die, their armor was completely shattered, and they were half dead."
"Then, as if he wasn't afraid of us at all, he charged straight into the small room where we were, fired wildly, killed Er Gouzi, and left. We didn't even have time to retaliate..."
"And then what?! After sniping him, are the two of you dead?! Couldn't you just shoot him and mow him down?!" the blond-haired guy yelled again, straining his neck.
"No, Brother Huang! You weren't there, you have no idea how eerie it was!"
Captain Number Three was clearly also enraged by the scolding. He raised his head defiantly, his neck red, and argued with the blond-haired man, "He didn't even look for cover; he just charged straight into the little room we were in, right through my bullets! He was firing in circles!"
"Who's ever seen a game like this before?!"
"He rushed in, killed Er Gouzi, and turned to leave, his movements as fast as a ghost!"
"Enough! Shut up, all of you!" Qiang shouted irritably, glaring at the arguing blond-haired guy and Captain Number Three.
The meeting room fell silent once more. Qiang Ge took a deep breath, turned his cold gaze to the fourth squad sitting at the far end of the long table, and said icily, "Squad Four! Your turn! You're the ones guarding the last line of defense at the evacuation point, holding absolute high ground advantage. Tell me, what's going on here?!"
The three men from Team Four stood up shakily. They looked at each other, bewildered.
The three of them stood there, looking at each other, none of them daring to speak first.
"Speak up! Have you all become mute?! What exactly happened at the evacuation point?!" Seeing their lukewarm attitude, Qiang Ge's anger flared up.
The fourth captain swallowed hard, his voice trembling and choked with sobs, and said to Brother Qiang, "Brother Qiang... to be honest, the three of us... still don't know what happened..."
"What do you mean you don't know what happened?! Were you sleepwalking inside?!" the blond-haired guy yelled, glaring at the crowd.
"We really don't know, Brother Qiang!" Another member of Team Four couldn't help but chime in at this point. "The three of us were holding the high platform on that small earthen mound, our three rifles firing in a crossfire, pressing down hard on that big rock below. The two guys behind the rock were so badly shot that they couldn't even lift their heads."
"Especially that woman, before she rushed into the pile of rocks, she must have been shot at least three or four times by us. She was covered in blood and couldn't even move."
"We could see everything clearly from up there, and we thought we had it in the bag. These three guys couldn't escape our firepower even if they had wings."
"Then the enemy threw a few smoke grenades to try and disrupt our vision. We didn't let our guard down at all and kept firing at the smoke grenades, but for some reason, in the blink of an eye, we were out of the map with no equipment. I suspect there's a bug..."
"Yeah, yeah, Brother Qiang!" another chimed in. "We're about to win, there's no reason why..."
"Yeah, yeah, Brother Qiang!" The last member of Team Four nodded repeatedly, his face pale, and echoed, "We're about to win, there's no reason why we shouldn't win!"
"You three still don't know what happened, do you?" Qiang Ge's voice was very low and his seriousness was somewhat frightening.
The captain of the fourth squad nodded blankly, a hint of expectation in his eyes.
"Then I'll tell you plainly what the hell happened in there!" Brother Qiang slammed his hand on the table and stood up from his chair.
He extended a thick, trembling finger and pointed it at the noses of the three men in the fourth squad, cursing, "You three idiots! You all died at the extraction point!"
"I saw your three corpses with my own eyes. Not even a single head could be seen; you were all killed by headshots!"
"This...this is impossible..." Captain Number Four's eyes were filled with disbelief, "In such thick smoke..."
"I still don't know what happened! When other people die and are resurrected in the real world, they experience phantom pain and go crazy, but the three of you don't have any memory at all!" Qiang Ge roared, panting heavily.
However, he knew best that the absence of the pain of death actually indicated that within the danger zone, they had no perception or consciousness before death.
It was truly a one-hit kill!
After finishing his tirade, Brother Qiang sat down in his chair, rubbing his temples. "Tell me," he said, "what should we do next time?"
Inside, a detailed discussion began about what exactly happened and how to avoid it next time.
