"Mom, Mom!" Rennai called out, "Brother Chen Xiao is here!"
There was a sound of something being knocked over upstairs, followed by Mrs. Mira's flustered reply: "I...I'll come down after I change my clothes!"
Renna winked mischievously and pulled Chen Xiao toward her room: "Let's wait in my room first, Mom is always so slow."
In Chen Xiao's room, Ren Nai deliberately turned on the stereo, the rhythm of pop music masking her increasingly rapid breathing.
With her back to Chen Xiao, she slowly unbuttoned her school uniform, revealing her perfect figure. "I'm going to take a shower first... wait for me."
As the sound of water running in the bathroom came from the window, Chen Xiao leaned against the window and was surprised to find that Ren Nai still had childhood photos in her house.
His gaze fell on the photo frame on the bedside table—in the photo, young Nina was being carried on his back, both of them wearing bright smiles.
He heard soft footsteps outside the door and turned to see Mrs. Mira standing in the half-closed doorway, her expression complex.
“Chen Xiaojun… …” Her voice trembled slightly, “It’s been a long time.”
Chen Xiao's gaze swept over her well-maintained figure, finally settling on her uneasy hands: "Aunt Mila is still so beautiful."
Mira's face flushed instantly, as the embarrassing memories of being caught by this boy years ago flooded back.
"I'll go get you some water!" Mira hurriedly tried to leave, but accidentally bumped into the wall.
She gasped and leaned back.
Chen Xiao reacted quickly, stepping forward to wrap his right arm around her soft waist and using his left hand to brace the back of her head before she hit the wall.
The distance between the two of them was instantly shortened to the point where they could hear each other's breathing.
Mrs. Mira could clearly smell the deadly aura of a teenage boy on Chen Xiao.
Her cheeks flushed instantly, her heart pounding wildly, and through the thin fabric of her clothes, she could feel the warmth emanating from Chen Xiao's hand.
"Th-thank you..." she stammered, but dared not look Chen Xiao in the eye.
Those dark, ink-black eyes were so sharp, as if they could see through all her shameful thoughts.
Chen Xiao did not immediately let go.
His thumb lightly brushed against Mrs. Mira's waist, feeling the soft curves unique to a mature woman. "You're still so careless," he said softly, his voice tinged with amusement, "just like fifteen years ago."
These words were like a key, instantly unlocking the most shameful box in Mrs. Mira's memory.
Ten years ago, on a hot summer afternoon, she was a staunch non-marriage advocate and had no boyfriend. Apart from her two adopted daughters, her life was relatively simple most of the time.
But she was, after all, a woman.
Just when she felt very lonely.
"Is Nina there? I want to play with Nina!!"
Suddenly the door was pushed open, and standing in the doorway was Chen Xiao, who was still a child at the time.
The shock, shame, and a strange, indescribable excitement of that time washed over me again.
"That...that time was an accident..." Mrs. Mira tried to explain in a panic, but she felt Chen Xiao's hand tighten around her waist.
She should have pushed him away, but her body betrayed her reason.
Chen Xiao lowered his head, almost touching her earlobe: "You still remember... I never thought of that."
A gentle breath brushed across her face.
Mrs. Mira trembled. She felt as if she were a blank sheet of paper that could be seen through at a glance in front of Chen Xiao.
The sound of her anxious heartbeat could be heard.
"Mom?" Rina called from the bathroom. "I forgot my towel, could you get it for me?"
The call was like a bucket of cold water poured over her head, and Mrs. Mira suddenly snapped back to reality.
She broke free from Chen Xiao's embrace, her chest heaving: "I...I'll go get a towel for Rennai..."
Chen Xiao took the pink bath towel from the bed first, and their hands touched as Mrs. Mira reached out to take it: "Let me do it, you seem to need to calm down."
Mrs. Mira recoiled as if electrocuted, watching helplessly as Chen Xiao walked towards the bathroom.
Her gaze was uncontrollably drawn to his broad back, the muscle lines beneath his white shirt faintly visible.
What made her even more ashamed was that she actually thought about dating Chen Xiao.
She should have stopped him, she should have loudly reprimanded this young man who barged into her home...
But her throat felt like it was blocked by something, and she could only lean helplessly against the wall, watching Chen Xiao close the bathroom door and turn to walk towards her.
“Aunt Mila,” Chen Xiao stopped in front of her, reached out and tucked a stray strand of her hair behind her ear, his fingertips intentionally or unintentionally brushing against her burning earlobe, “Your face is so red, do you have a fever?”
Mrs. Mira tried to back away, but found herself facing a wall.
Chen Xiao braced his arm against her ear, trapping her in a small space.
She could smell the faint scent of mint in his breath, mixed with the distinctive scent of male hormones, making her heart pound so hard it felt like it was going to burst out of her chest.
"No... I'm fine..." She turned her face away.
“You’re even more beautiful than you were ten years ago,” Chen Xiao said softly, gently stroking her cheek with his fingers. “I’ve often thought of you over the years.”
The implication sent shivers down Mrs. Mira's spine. She should be furious, she should slap him... but her body betrayed her reason.
"Brother Chen Xiao?" Ren Nai suddenly raised her voice from the bathroom, "Are you talking to Mom?"
Chen Xiao didn't answer immediately, but leaned down and whispered in Mrs. Mira's ear, "Tonight... I'll stay for dinner." His lips almost touched her earlobe. "You'll prepare my favorite dishes, right? I used to often come to your house for meals when I was little."
Mrs. Mira nodded rapidly, her heart pounding in her throat.
When Chen Xiao finally took a step back, she practically fled in panic, and could even feel that with every step she took, her body betrayed her soul.
She stumbled into the kitchen, bracing herself on the counter and gasping for breath. She felt like she was about to suffocate in front of Chen Xiao.
—This doesn't resemble a dignified mother at all; she's clearly a young girl in the throes of first love.
The icy water from the tap washed over her face, shattering her composure.
But it could not extinguish the flames burning within him.
Mrs. Mira realized with despair that, after so many years, she still couldn't resist Chen Xiao's charm.
What's even more terrifying is that, deep down, she actually longed to be with Chen Xiao.
Mrs. Mira took a deep breath, trying to calm her wildly beating heart.
Water droplets slid down her cheeks, indistinguishable between tap water and tears of shame.
"Calm down, Mira..." she whispered to herself, "He's just a child... just..."
But what came to mind were Chen Xiao's strong arms and those eyes that could see right through people. That little boy had grown into a charming and handsome man!
The candlelight flickered on the dining table.
Mrs. Mira lit scented candles, and the faint scent of lavender filled the restaurant.
She changed into a conservative beige turtleneck sweater, but she could still feel Chen Xiao's gaze sweeping over her as if it were real.
"Brother Chen Xiao, try this!" Ren Nai picked up a piece of teriyaki chicken and put it directly to Chen Xiao's mouth. "My mom and I made it together."
Yuna's chopsticks stopped in mid-air as she watched her sister's affectionate gesture with a complicated expression.
She pursed her lips and ultimately just silently picked at the rice in her bowl.
"It's delicious." Chen Xiao smiled as he accepted the food. "Aunt Mila's cooking is still so good."
Mrs. Mira gripped her napkin tightly, her knuckles turning white. "Th-thank you..." She didn't dare look up, afraid that her eyes would reveal too much of her secret.
“Speaking of which,” Rennai suddenly rested her chin on her hand, a mischievous glint in her eyes behind her glasses, “Does Brother Chen Xiao have a girlfriend now? The girl from earlier?”
The atmosphere at the table froze instantly.
Chen Xiao calmly sipped his miso soup: "Nanao Akane? We're very close." He glanced meaningfully around the table, "However... I don't like being tied down."
Rina's eyes lit up, Yuna secretly breathed a sigh of relief, and Mrs. Mira was also secretly delighted.
“Well…” Renna gently kicked Chen Xiao with her leg, “Do you want to stay tonight? You haven’t forgotten the promise we made at the door, have you?…”
"Nina!" Yuna finally couldn't help but speak up, "That's so rude!"
“What does it matter?” Renna pouted. “Brother Chen Xiao (Zhao Deqian) is no outsider.”
Mrs. Mira finally raised her head and met Chen Xiao's ambiguous smile.
At that moment, she felt as if she had returned to fifteen years ago, to that summer afternoon when the boy's innocent eyes reflected her most wretched self...
"I...I'll go get the dessert." Mrs. Mira hurriedly got up and fled to the kitchen.
After dinner, Chen Xiao was pulled into Ren Nai's bedroom.
The girl's room was filled with pink tones, and the walls were covered with idol posters and sparkly decorations.
“Brother Chen Xiao…” Ren Nai closed the door, her demeanor completely different from her boldness at the dinner table, “I…I actually…”
Chen Xiao sat on the edge of the bed, patted the spot next to him, and beckoned, "Come here."
Renna approached cautiously, like a startled fawn, as she sat down next to Chen Xiao.
"Do you know what you're doing?" Chen Xiao's voice was very soft.
Renna nodded: "I...I like Brother Chen Xiao, ever since I was very young..." Her voice trailed off, "...not the kind of liking a younger sister has for her older brother..."
Chen Xiao sighed and reached out to stroke her long hair: "You're too young, Rina."
“I’m already seventeen. In Japan, you’re considered an adult at fourteen, and you’re only a month or two older than me!” Nina suddenly looked up, her eyes behind her glasses flashing with a stubborn light. “I know what I want!”
Chen Xiao suddenly laughed: "So... you don't regret it?"
Nina's answer was to initiate a kiss.
When the two separated, Rina's cheeks were as red as a ripe apple.
"Brother Chen Xiao..." she murmured softly, "I...I want to be yours..."
Just then, a slight noise came from outside the door. Chen Xiao turned his head sharply and saw a shadow flash by under the door—someone was eavesdropping.

Nina possessed the unique enthusiasm of a young girl.
Chen Xiao responded to her kiss, his fingers gently running through her long, brown-gold hair.
