After all, only the book was scrapped, not all the characters in it were deleted. Jaina, Arthas, and others were also in the book.
"??? Is she your friend? I don't think I've heard of that name before." The female mage said with a puzzled look, for some reason she felt that the name was strangely familiar.
“Oh! Who knows? Maybe you can ask your father sometime if he knows this name,” Rod said.
After all, she's an illegitimate child! Rhodes was really looking forward to seeing what Admiral Daelin's expression would be when Jaina asked that question.
“Ask my father! Rhodes, what you're saying is strange. Why ask my father?” Jaina asked, looking puzzled.
Rod didn't speak, he just shrugged, everything was understood without words.
"Let's talk about something else. Leave the task of reforging the Emperor's sword to me. I'll find someone to help. Your fire magic scroll from before will come in very handy this time," Jaina said.
He already had an idea for this matter and planned to ask the blood elf prince Kael'thas for help, as the latter would definitely be interested in this magic scroll.
While the two were talking, they entered the mage tower, where some mage apprentices guarding the gate bowed to Jaina.
"Mage Jaina, your teacher, Lord Antonidas, is already waiting inside. Please follow me." A mage who looked to be in his forties nodded to Jaina and Rhodes and then led them into the magic tower.
Chapter 62 Antonidas, Dalaran Mage Registration
Archmage Antonidas was an old man who looked to be over 60 years old, with gray hair and a long white beard, and his appearance was somewhat similar to Gandalf from Lord of the Rings.
"Master Antonidas, I'm back." Jaina respectfully bowed to her master with a mage's salute.
"My young apprentice, it seems you have completed the task I gave you. Now tell me everything you have investigated!"
"And could you introduce the young man next to you?" Antonidas nodded, then asked Jaina.
“It was the great mentor. Here’s what happened. Arthas and I went to Andorhal to investigate the plague and encountered Rhodes… I couldn’t stop Arthas from massacring the civilians of Stratholme… After that… we went to the Tomb of the Guardian Tyr… After staying in the Kingdom of Lordaeron for a few days, I returned to Dalaran with Rhodes.” Jaina told Antonidas part of what had happened along the way.
The source of this undead plague was the Kirin Tor, a traitor to Dalaran and Kel'Thuzad, a traitor to the Council of Six. After encountering Rhodes, Rhodes displayed amazing magic and a powerful ability to learn spells.
The identity of the Titan Guardian's messenger, and the Titan Guardian's guidance to the Tomb of Tyr to obtain the Silver Hand Warhammer and eliminate the Faceless General inside.
Hearing about his apprentice's experiences over this period of time, Archmage Antonidas gasped in astonishment; these experiences were comparable to those of the Guardians.
Moreover, there was even a dreadlord among them. These guys are demons, minions of the Burning Legion. The records of the High Elves' War of the Ancients contain accounts of how they once invaded this world!
Damn it!
If it truly involves the Burning Legion, then this matter should rightfully be resolved by the Guardians. But that traitor Aegwynn has seized the power that belongs to Dalaran and all of humanity to protect Azeroth for herself.
The power inherited from the parliament has been transformed into the power of the family.
However, her son brought humanity a powerful enemy, the orcs, causing immense disaster to the world.
This resulted in the Dalaran Council losing its most powerful weapon guardian.
“My apprentice, your experiences have truly astonished me: a traitor to the Kirin Tor Council, a dreadlord, and a Titan guardian!”
These pieces of information are more shocking than the last. I need to convene the other six members of the council to discuss how to handle this matter.
"Take this mage, Lord Rhodes, and let him rest in Dalaran for a while. We'll come up with a concrete solution then," Antonidas said.
We must convene the other six members of the council and discuss how to handle this incident. Was it an accidental demonic invasion, or is the Burning Legion planning to invade the world again?
“Yes, Master, I will take care of Rhodes.” Jaina nodded.
“Hmm! Mr. Rhodes, would you like to register as a mage in Dalaran? We don’t have any mandatory requirements here, and you can obtain the status of a Dalaran mage.” Antonidas asked Rhodes.
"Honorable Mage Antonidas, I have now accepted the investiture from the Kingdom of Lordaeron and am now a baron of the Kingdom of Lordaeron!"
"And Lord Uther has also expressed his intention to invite me to join the Knights of the Silver Hand, but I don't seem to have much talent in combat." Rhodes tactfully explained his situation.
I need to state my identity first, lest Dalaran try to take advantage of me, such as forcibly demanding my magical items.
"Yes! Being a mage in Dalaran is just a registration. We don't force members to do anything, as long as they don't research evil spells."
We should try to win over this emissary appointed by the Titan Guardians. If the Burning Legion is really involved, then the Titan Guardians would be a powerful ally.
“You’ve agreed to Rhodes’ request. What you’re about to do will require this Dalaran identity,” Jaina whispered from the side.
Rhodes nodded upon hearing this.
“In that case, Lord Antonidas, I am willing to register a mage's identity in Dalaran.”
"Okay! I'll have someone come and register your information later. Once you become a registered mage in Dalaran, you can legally purchase some of Dalaran's magical resources."
"You can take on some quests and receive rewards such as gold coins, magical materials, or even some spells, or find a mentor," Antonidas said.
You can even accept quests? Isn't that just like a player adventurer?
However, you don't need to find a master to learn magic; you can just keep taking advantage of Jaina! Or you can learn magic from your future opponents.
"I understand, Master Antonidas."
After Rhodes agreed to register as a mage in Dalaran, Antonidas waved his hand, allowing Jaina to take Rhodes away.
The two found the office staff on the lower level of the mage tower and completed the registration of their mage identity information.
Rhodes also received a mage identity card for Dalaran. With this identity card, he can freely enter and leave Dalaran in the future. After mastering teleportation magic, he can obtain a spatial coordinate of Dalaran.
You can accept or post quests at the Mage Guild, which is quite convenient overall.
“Gina! When should we find a qualified jeweler to help us set the Holy Light Crystal?” Rhode asked after completing the registration of his identity information.
“Rhodes, let me take you to see Kael'thas first!” Jaina said.
Enchanting the Emperor's weapon and socketing it with Holy Light Crystals requires the Prince's help; ordinary craftsmen and enchanters cannot accomplish this task.
Rhodes nodded and followed Jaina to see Kael'thas. The two walked and talked along the way, and Jaina began to introduce Rhodes to some of the customs and culture of Dalaran.
"Rhodes, you must remember this: your fire elemental summoning magic scroll is extremely valuable. If Kael'thas or anyone else asks for it..."
"Don't agree to any conditions they offer. If it really comes down to it, you can say it's a loan from the Titan Guardians, understand?" Jaina said meaningfully.
There are some things I must specifically mention: this fire elemental summoning scroll is very valuable.
Such a magical item cannot be measured in money. Even after the meeting between the mentor and the members of the Kirin Tor Council of Six, the Council might very well have its eye on this magical scroll.
That's why she had Rhodes register as a mage, and with the added title of Baron of Lordaeron, it would prevent certain guys from openly robbing him.
"I understand, Gina."
No wonder they made me register as a mage! A common man is innocent, but possessing a treasure is a crime.
Chapter 63 First Encounter with Kael'thas: Rewards from Socketing, Enchantment, and Glyphing
Rhodes understood this principle very well, which is why he fabricated the identity of a Titan Guardian's messenger. Otherwise, he wouldn't have dared to bring out all these good things.
Sometimes greed can drive people to do some really crazy things, but Rhodes is no pushover either.
Firstly, the noble status of the Alliance leader, Lordaeron, already prevents some underhanded tactics, since nominally all of Dalaran must obey the orders of the King of Lordaeron.
In terms of raw power, Rhodes can summon Thor at any time to impersonate Titan's powerful bodyguard.
"Don't tell anyone about the space magic ship for now."
"If Kael'thas wants a fire elemental magic scroll, you can lend it to him. The high elf prince's reputation is reliable; I can assure you of that," Jaina said.
With her present, Kael'thas would never do anything that would be out of character, she was absolutely certain of that.
“I understand, Gina. Thank you for reminding me,” Rod nodded.
Soon the two arrived at a magnificent, fiery red palace. The decoration style here was completely different from that of humans; it was the exquisite Quel'Thalas elven style. There were also two beautiful high elf women with long golden hair at the entrance.
"Lady Jaina! Are you here to pay your respects to His Highness the Prince?" a beautiful elven woman at the door asked in a very friendly manner.
“Yes, Ms. Disna, please pass on my message: I wonder if His Highness the Prince has time to receive us?” Jaina said.
"His Highness is conducting magical research. I'll go inform him; he should have time." The elven beauty smiled politely, then turned and left.
A short while later, Jaina and Rhodes were invited into the manor, which was decorated even more magnificently, with expensive carpets and all sorts of magical furniture.
A broom to sweep for yourself, a blanket to fold for yourself, and even a portrait that greets you.
It gave Rhodes the illusion that he had arrived at Hogwarts. (This is a reference to the presence of such magical items around the birthplace of the blood elves in Silvermoon City.)
Soon the two were led to a room where a tall, handsome male elf, dressed in a red magic robe with three magic orbs floating behind him, was waiting for them.
It has to be said, this blood elf prince is ridiculously handsome! If Arthas gets an 8 out of 10 in terms of looks, this one would definitely get a 10 or more.
"It's quite rare for you, Gina, I didn't expect you to take the initiative to visit! Is there some magical question you'd like me to ask you?" Kael'thas asked with a smile and a nod to Jaina.
“Yes, Master Kael'thas, I have indeed come here this time with a matter I would like your assistance with,” Jaina said with a polite bow.
"As I said before, Gina, you can just call me Kyle!"
“Master Kael’thas, this is just a matter of courtesy. After all, you are my senior, and even my mentor has consulted you on magic,” Jaina said.
She was intentionally highlighting the age difference between the two, implying that even Antonidas, Kael'thas's mentor, was nothing more than a little kid compared to Kael'thas, and even Aegwynn was no exception.
"Never mind! Gina, just tell me what's on your mind!" Kael'thas sighed.
Perhaps I shouldn't have fallen for a human girl. Gina is indeed very beautiful, but decades later she will grow old just like any other human.
Unless I turn her into a guardian-like being!
"Master Kael'thas, on my recent investigation into the plague, I experienced some truly fantastical adventures. We obtained weapons that your race once forged for the human emperor Thoradin..."
"That's the situation, Master Kael'thas. We want to transform this weapon into a Holy Light weapon by embedding this Holy Light Crystal in it and re-glyphizing and enchanting it." Jaina explained briefly to Kael'thas and gestured for Rhodes to bring out the Stokham Destroyer.
Looking at the Emperor's sword on the table, Kael'thas fell into deep thought. This weapon had been completely purified by the power of the Holy Light, and a powerful Holy Light flowed within it.
As for the Holy Light Crystal, it was even more remarkable; the holy light power emanating from it made him feel a chill.
“Gina! You’ve come to the right person. No one in all of Azeroth except us high elves can do this job, but it’s a huge and complex project.”
"I would even need to personally perform the enchanting and glyphing, as well as the gem setting. But Mr. Rhodes, what kind of reward would you offer me to invite me to do this?" Kael'thas asked, glancing at Rhodes.
The user of this weapon is definitely not Gina, and Rhodes just introduced her as a nobleman of Lordaeron!
The opponent was also a mage, so naturally he wouldn't use a greatsword.
Therefore, Kael'thas strongly suspected that after the Holy Light Sword was reforged, it might be given to his rival Arthas.
If Jaina asked him to help reforge a legendary staff, he would offer his help without hesitation, but if it might be a weapon for Arthas...
Even if Jaina came to him for help, he would charge a high fee and would never do it for free.
“Of course I won’t let you do this for nothing, Your Highness. I can offer you appropriate compensation,” Rhodes said.
It's understandable that Kai wouldn't help for free, especially since Rhodes doesn't really like relying on women's favors.
