Chapter 41 Winning
Chapter 41 Winning
As Qin Yu and his two companions walked off the stage, Su Lingjuan greeted them and handed Qin Yu a bottle of unopened water.
Congratulations! You won!
"Thank you." Qin Yu took the water.
Just then, Qin Yu saw the three police officers approaching. They seemed to have regained some of their strength.
"You guys are pretty good," Old Chen said with a smile, patting Wu Yun on the shoulder. "You won cleanly and decisively. Especially you, Wu Yun, those key rebounds and points were really tough."
"And you, Zhou Biao, right?" Old Liu looked at Qin Yu. "Well organized, those two three-pointers were very encouraging."
Qin Yu nodded: "Thank you, Uncle."
"Play well and try to get a good ranking," Uncle Wang encouraged.
They chatted for a few more minutes before leaving, saying they were going to watch other matches and study potential opponents.
Just as Qin Yu and his two companions were preparing to find a place to rest and wait for the draw for the next round of matches, a voice interrupted them.
"You played alright."
Qin Yu and his two teammates turned around and saw the aloof shooting guard from the number one team in Qingyang District. He had walked over at some point, followed by his two teammates. His gaze swept over Qin Yu and his two teammates, finally settling on Wu Yun's face.
"Wu Yun? The one in the video?" His tone was flat, revealing no hint of praise or criticism.
Wu Yun nodded without saying anything.
"Interesting." He gave a wry smile, not quite a laugh. "I hope you guys can win a few more matches. See you in the finals."
After saying that, he turned and left, leaving behind a haughty silhouette.
"Who is this guy? Why is he so arrogant?" Du Dewu frowned.
"He's from Qingyang District, I think his name is Lin Rui," Wu Yun said. "He's really quite capable."
"Who cares? Let's get through the next round first," Qin Yu interrupted their discussion.
The second round of competition quickly came to an end. Including Team One (Lin Rui's team), which received a bye, four teams remained. This means that one more win would secure a place in the top three and the prize money.
The opponent for the next round was quickly determined by drawing lots.
When Qin Wenbin announced, "Team Six will face off against Team Three," Qin Yu's heart skipped a beat.
Team number three consists of those three police officers.
They just won another match in the second round, narrowly advancing to the next round.
A buzz of interest rose from the audience.
The relationship between the older man and the younger man is a topic that will generate a lot of discussion.
Old Chen and the others looked over, their faces showing wry smiles, and they shrugged at Qin Yu and the other two.
Wu Yun's expression was somewhat complicated.
Du Dewu, on the other hand, was eager to try: "It would be interesting to fight with these older men."
Qin Yu and the other two walked to the sidelines to prepare.
Su Lingjuan followed over and whispered to Qin Yu, "Are those older men good?"
"Very strong, experienced, stamina might be a problem, but they won't be easy to beat," Qin Yu said truthfully.
"So, can you win?"
"Do your best."
Just then, out of the corner of his eye, Qin Yu caught a glimpse of Xin Zhiyan walking towards his and his two companions' half of the court with a scoreboard. She seemed to have been assigned to record the match.
She walked to the technical table on the sidelines, adjusted her brace, and then looked up calmly at the field.
Inevitably, Qin Yu and the other two met eyes again.
This time, she didn't look away immediately, but stared at Qin Yu for about two seconds. Her gaze remained calm, but there seemed to be something else in it, like inquiry or confirmation.
Then, she nodded slightly to Qin Yu, a little more noticeably than before, and then lowered her head to prepare to take notes.
She recognized Qin Yu.
This thought clearly appeared in Qin Yu's mind.
